Rookie Love is a sweet quick romantic read. It brings us the story of Jase, a local baseball player and Cally, manager of an animal rescue shelter.

Jase is a good guy, a man who always tries to do the right thing, but isn't perfect and does make mistakes, such as the one that lands him in court and saddled with doing community service. But that lapse in judgement might have brought him to greater things, Cally.

Cally loves her job, she loves the animals she works with and looks forward to getting them all into loving forever homes. She loves working with her family, even if they sometimes annoy her. When she hears a local sports hero celebrity will be doing community service at her place, she's decidedly against it, until she meets Jase and something between them just clicks.

This story is full of sweet and tender moments, but also more spicy steamy scenes too. Cally and Jase's connection is instantaneous but they do work at getting to know each other beyond their first impressions. I really enjoyed how Skye Turner worked the animals into the story, showing the true nature of both characters.

I loved that even though there was an instant connection between Cally and Jase, their relationship didn't feel too rushed or out of the blue. I really enjoyed how they fit together and how all of the pieces fell into place to bring them together, as if fate wanted these two to cross paths.

Rookie love is a beautifully light read that will leave you with a smile on your face
