Review: Seducing Seven by MK Meredith

Title: Seducing Seven
Author: M.K. Meredith
Released: 10/12/15
Source: ARC from Author
Links: Amazon ~ Goodreads
Synopsis:

He bet on logic. She bet on love.

Romance author Seven Michaels believes in love to her very core. She has to--not only for herself, but for her readers. So when luxury salesman Blake Turner insults not only her books but the people who read them, Seven's ready to throw down. How dare a playboy like Blake insinuate romance lovers are full of crap?

He wants proof? Fine. She bets Blake she can make him fall for her by using the rules in her latest novel before the end of the convention, or she'll denounce love in front of all her fellow authors and fans at the Romance Lovers Convention ball. A dangerous game to be sure, but humiliating Blake is worth the risk.

But when Seven realizes she's the one who's being seduced, she's no longer sure who is playing whom...or whether she'll have a career when the bet is over.

My Review:

Seven Michaels is a romance author, in Vegas for a Romance convention, suffering her own past romantic humiliations and lamenting her lack of love life she finds herself making  a bet with a stranger. A bet about Love and seduction.   The bet places everything she stands for as a romance author on the line, but can she come out of the bet unscathed?

Blake Turner can't believe his (bad) luck, sharing a convention hotel with a bunch of romance lovers, readers and authors alike.  Don't they know love is a sham? A chance meeting with Seven spurns him to share his thoughts on the romance genre and he laughs at her insistence that she could seduce anyone with the rules of her book.  But the tables are turned when she makes him a bet.

Seven is sassy and hilarious. I fell in love with her character in the first couple of pages. She really comes across as a genuine romance lover which made me feel I totally got her and her wishes.   Blake was hard as nails, but you could see a few cracks in him as well, little vulnerabilities.

The banter between the two was spot on and drew me in.  Each so sure they would win and hold their ground, when really they were both failing as well as falling. Seducing Seven was a quick read, but it lacked nothing.    This story had me laughing loudly often and sometimes swooning.   Both of the characters felt real, and I was able to connect to both of them in various ways, Seven as a Romance lover in general Blake for having viewed messed up relationships in the past that clouded his own views.

So who wins the bet?  Seven or Blake? You'll have to read to find out... Either way you'll be the winner for having read this story.

M.K. Meredith has written another fantastic story that showcases amazing characters and bringing them together in a sweet and funny story that isn't your typical romance, but still is.
