Ask Me If I Care is the latest book in Vale's KPD Swat Generation 2.0 series and it makes a fabulous addition to the rest. Delivering us the story of Ares and Hayes and just a little more than that, but some things need to be read for themselves.
I enjoyed the interactions between Ares and Hayes - two people who most wouldn't have put together and yet once you saw them together, you'd realize there isn't anything more fitting than these two together. I loved Ares and her quirks because that made her feel more like someone I'd want to be friends with. And as always with Vales book, I loved the closeness of her characters - all of them - to each other and everyone else in the story. There's always some lesson to be learned from side characters.
Ask Me If I Care delivers a developing romance between these two while also brewing up quite the mysterious crime as well - leaving readers guessing who done it and how it's going to play out on the page. Vale delivers great suspense, good action and a plausible scenario to keep readers attention and then snares a win for our Swat in the end.
I can't wait for our next Swat hero and to see where that story leads us.
