Blog Tour & Review: Foolproof by Jennifer Blackwood

Title: Foolproof
Author: Jennifer Blackwood
Genre: New Adult, Contemporary Romance
Publication: January 26th, 2015

A summer of seduction...

Jules Carmichael needs to get her life together. Pronto. School's been hell, there was that tiny stint in rehab, and worst of all, she's lost her cushy summer job. The only available work is at Office Jax, home of horrid 90s music and the biggest jerk on this side of the galaxy...

Recovering from a brutal break-up and taking a hiatus from college, Ryan DeShane has just discovered the “6 Ultimate Steps to the Perfect Summer Fling.” It's a brilliant distraction, and Jules is a tantalizing target. But the “steps” work a little too well, because he and Jules are definitely, uh, flinging. And it's only a matter of time before Ryan's foolproof plan starts to seriously unravel...

MY REVIEW:

I started out Foolproof with a giant laugh, and didn't stop giggling thorugout much of the book.   You know the romantic comedies you watch when you've had a bad day or you just need a pick me up. This book is that!  We first met Jules Carmichael in Unethical, and I knew there was a good story waiting for her, Blackwood did not disappoint.

Still pulling her life together after that minor drug problem that landed her in rehab, Jules is spending the summer at the only job available to her, Office Jax.  The uniform leaves much to be desired, and the in-store music selection is enough to make her crazy. Toss in a jerk in the form of the boss' son and things aren't exactly looking up.

Ryan DeShane has come home, having been booted out of school and discovering his girlfriend cheated.  In addition, he's being forced to work in his father's store.  It looks like its going to be the Summer from Hell, until he reads an article about the Perfect Summer Fling.  Deciding to try these moves on his co-worker, Jules, the summer is about to get very interesting.

Foolproof is a humorous, yet sweet romantic tale.  The banter between Ryan and Jules is humorous, yet also shows how their relationship changes from their initial meeting. Their story definitely has a fun build up and shows how they both have grown and developed through the story.

I love that we get glimpses of Payton and Blake in this story as well.

Foolproof is book 2 in the Drexler University Series, but it can be read as a standalone.
