About WOLF BETRAYED

The Talon Pack continues with the daughter of a traitor, the man who can never be her lover, and another man she should never want…her enemy. Charlotte Jamenson was born to the Pack that threatened the world, but grew up in the one that saved it. She’s spent her entire life repenting for lies and faults that were never hers to bear. When she falls for her best friend, Bram Devlin, she thinks she’s finally found forgiveness for the blood in her veins; only a mating bond never came. Bram knows there’s something missing within his mating with Charlotte, but there’s nothing he can do about it. Their Pack is in danger, and it’s his duty to protect their Alpha—even if it means sacrificing his life. When he’s put in charge of protecting a new member of the Talon Pack, he realizes he and Charlotte may just have a chance at something more than heartache. Shane Bruins sacrificed his life and his future to protect the Packs from the men he worked for. Now, thanks to circumstances beyond his control, he’s not quite who he was before, and his life is on the line yet again. Only this time, he isn’t alone, and the two wolves in his path might be the only things that can calm the beast inside. The war isn’t coming, it’s here, and the Talon Pack will have to rely on three souls who know they aren’t what each other wants—but exactly what they need—to win.

REVIEW

Wolf Betrayed was a fabulous read that gave us more than a love story.  This book is the story of three people who have thier own struggles and find their way together despite them.

Charlotte knows she's cursed because of who she is, she feels betrayed by that which she should have faith in, because of the blood that runs through her veins. Charlotte believes that her mate bond with Bram wasn't complete because she's undeserving and it pains her so to know they are not what she thought them to be.  She's very hard on herself though she tries to hide it, but she can't hide the changes within when she meets Shane. She's confused and at a lost as to what it all means, but she's also given a tiny glimmer of hope.

Bram knows Charlotte blames herself for the lacking finality in their mate bond, knows she's suffering for it, but doesn't know what to say or do to help, because he doesn't understand it either.  When he discovers a connection to Shane, Bram starts to make guesses as to what the problem could be, but he doesn't want it to be right.

Shane thought he was one of the good guys, thought he was fighting for the right side, only to discover that much of it was a lie. On death's door and altered in ways he doesn't fully know, Shane's future lies in the hands of the pack of wolves that found him. To make things even more frustrating and confusing for Shane, he feels a connection to both Charlotte and Bram and knows there's something there, but nobody is giving him the full story.

Wolf Betrayed is full of action, a touch of suspense, and three complicated people who find themselves in an unusual position, finding their perfect match in not one but two people.  Charlotte, Shane and Bram all have thier own indivudual struggles, their own personal pain, guilt, etc, but they are able to help each other, to provide support and love and come together despite all of it. Their triad mating isn't the norm among their pack of shifters, so there's the added complexities of working through their new bonds while handling the curious nature of those around them.  This story takes us on a journey as each of these three people figures out who they are as a part of this triad, figures out what they want to do with their futures.

What I loved most about this story was that though there was danger to the packs, there was questions and concerns about Shane and what had been done to him and what it would mean for not only him, but everyone else, was that there was a heavy focus on Charlotte and Bram and how they fit into it, how Shane was meant to be that missing piece to their bond.  I loved how both Charlotte and Bram were curious about what could be, but tried to focus more on getting Shane stable and getting the needed information before starting anything.

The characters pulled me right in to the story, even without full knowledge (from previous books) about the history of each pack.  There's a lot to be said about how they pull together and work through the dangers that threaten them as a whole, rather than going off on their own.  I really felt like the packs were a big family, full of banter and genuine affection, even when they worried about members or felt fear as a whole.
