REVIEW
I've read and loved many books by K. Webster, from dark, to ugly cry reads, and a few in between, but I wasn't quite sure what to expect in a rom-com from her. Pair that up with J.D. Hollyfield - who is a fairly new author to me and I was excited to dive in to this book. Let me tell you, I laughed hard, I smiled, and I even swooned. This book was fabulous and I'd definitely read another by this duo.
The premise of this book isn't unknown - it's been done a time or two before, but I don't think its ever been done like this. What started off as a drunken, heartbroken accidental text turns into so much more.
Dani's the nice girl, the steady one, the one that everyone can count, but also the one everyone walks all over. So it comes as a big surprise when in an unusual ranty tirade of texts, Dani not only comes out of her normal 'nice' routine, and blows up but that she does it to a complete stranger who she then feels compelled to apologize to. This keeps off a constant stream of interaction between the two which grows and builds.
Ram's had his own ups and downs recently. The accidental text from this stranger has an amazing effect on him, giving him a breakthrough that will hopefully further his career. More than that, he finds that he likes texting with this unknown girl.
I loved the build up between these two; the slow burn. This book will make you laugh out loud, but more than that, it is the swooniest. There's also the all important chemistry and steam factor - which are A+.
Ram and Dani's story will pull you in, it will make touch you in many ways, invoking emotions and laughter and leave you rooting for them.
