Review
One thing that's always sort of implied when you read a K. Webster book is to expect the unexpected and to prepare to be shocked. With each book in the War & Peace series, she has done just that, brought shock and surprise and drug me deeper into the depths of this dark dark world of hers.
This is Me, Baby is book number five and if you haven't read previous books in the series, then you absolutely need to start there - this is not a book to dive into without having previous knowledge of this world of characters.
One of my favorite things about the books in this series, beyond the whole never knowing what's going to come next, is that K. Webster blends the story into something real, something that packs an emotional punch one way or another. The characters suck you in and hold you captive, feeling for them, be it sadness, happiness, or sometimes fear or rage. I love that lure to know what is coming next, the pull to flip the page and read the words and build on to the story.
This is Me, Baby is a continuation of Brie's story, and we get to see the fall out from the previous book, we get to learn more and see what's coming for this character. We also of course get bits and pieces of other characters and we get to watch as the story wraps them all further together. There's bonds there, even when they are unwanted or unthought of, connections from one book to the next, from one person to another and all of it builds on the existing stories read in the series.
Take a wild ride with K. Webster and pick up this series today, you'll cry, you'll hurt, you'll smile, and everything in between, one thing you won't be though is bored or disappointed.
