Bout of Books - Day 6

I've missed a couple update days but this week's been pretty crazy. Still gotten in my reading though.  So I'll toss up my Progress info through today.

Day 3 - I read 630 pages and finished 2 books.
Day 4 - I read 405 pages and finished 2 books.
Day 5 - I read 257 pages and finished 1 book.

Today's Challenge

Share Your Favorite Bout of Books Moment

With the read-a-thon starting to wind down, we want to see some of your favorite moments. These could be from past Bout of Books or the present one. Did you connect with someone who would later become your BFF and partner in crime? Did a favorite author retweet you? Were you recommended a book that changed your life? TELL US ABOUT IT!

One of my favorite parts of Bout of Books is reading with friends and discovering new reads.  This year I got to do the challenge with my friend Nina, again, and we discussed a lot of books, and the challenges, etc. Always a great time.

I also got recommended a prequel  type story that now I"m dying for the series to release!  If you haven't dived into CD Reiss' free prequel book on Ibooks - do it! I gobbled it all up last night after it had been rec'd to me.

Bout of Books Day 2 Progress

Today's Challenge

Challenges
Show Me Your Precious

Everyone has a book that they love; now is your time to bring out your precious and shine. Share your favorite book (in whatever format you choose)! You know the one that has that beautifully illustrated map, or gorgeous writing, or whatever it is that draws you to it. Share with the world what makes that book your precious!

Okay so I couldn't really pick just ONE precious and I think once I explain - you'll get why.

#1 Bennett by Sybil Bartel

#2 Belong to the Night by Bridget Blackwood

It only takes one picture to show why these books are My Precious.  I've had the joy and fabulous experience as a beta reader for many authors, some I've become really close with.  And sometimes these authors do things that surprise and make me *happy* cry.

Day Two Progress

Yesterday I read --

167 Pages (while in the courthouse waiting for jury duty)
312 pages at home
For a total of 479 pages

A book published in 1981 was

Which is Book 1 in the Hannibal Lector series. I've actually never read these books, but I have seen the movies.

Bout of Books 22

I'm joining in on Bout of Books 22 with a few bookish friends.  Mostly I'm signing up for this read-a-thon to knock out some of my TBR and get caught up on ARCs.

If you've never done Bout of Books before - this is what it's all about

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly Rubidoux Apple. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 14th and runs through Sunday, May 20th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 22 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team
