About DRAGONFIRE:

Passion burns hot in Dragonfire, the next Dark Kings novel from New York Times bestseller Donna Grant. It was a soul-deep longing, one that got into his bones and settled there, sending whispers of desire through him. The need, the hunger, grew tenfold with every breath. . . . As a Dragon King, Roman is sworn to protect all mortals—even though they no longer believe in dragons. But deep in the Carpathian Mountains, he discovers a beautiful and mysterious gypsy who possesses the power to see into his very soul. To reignite the fire in his heart. And to help him find the long-lost sword that could save the dragons forever… Sabina remembers the stories her grandmother told her. Legends of dragons and kings, fire and ice. And she’s never forgotten the dark prophecy that filled her ancestors with fear—a fate they tried to prevent by stealing a Dragon King’s sword. Sabina knows that helping Roman is dangerous. He is a dragon betrayed, and more powerful than any man. He could destroy her in a single fiery embrace. But how can she resist the longing in his eyes—or the feelings in her heart—when their destinies are bound by desire?

Cover Reveal: Relapse by J.P Nicholas

J.P. Nicholas is sharing the cover for his upcoming release, RELAPSE with us! I am so excited to share it with you and grab your copy November 19th!

Title: RELAPSE

Author: J.P. Nicholas

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Release Date: November 19th

About RELAPSE:

I broke his heart. Now I hope he doesn’t break mine back.   Darren Gracen looks even sexier than the day I left him. Oh, and let’s not forget that panty-dropping British accent. Just being around him again is bringing back all the sweet and sinful memories we shared together. Smelling his masculine scent in the same vicinity gets me high and makes my heart flutter.   But he’s not the same man I left behind. There’s a sad, mysterious gleam in his eye. Sure, it could be that he doesn’t trust me anymore. That’s understandable, considering the circumstances of our breakup. But I can’t help but feel that it’s more than that. Like he’s hiding something behind those brooding blue eyes of his.   No matter what it is, I can’t deny it…I still want him.

Exclusive Excerpt:

All amusement vanishes from his lips as his mouth turns into a straight line. He raises a bushy brow, causing a crease to form on his forehead. He eyes me carefully, as if his words are going to send me running to the hills. Based on my track record, they just might. That seems to be my MO where he’s concerned. “Do you want the full-truth or the half-truth?” “Both,” I force out, unsure of whether I want to know what the full-truth consists of. As soon as the word flies out of my mouth, Darren stands up and walks over to my side of the table. A shiver runs down my spine when he drums his fingers on my shoulder. They brush the delicate skin on my neck as he parts my hair to the side, leaving the nape of my neck exposed to his hungry gaze. My head lolls back and I bite back a moan when he presses his lips to the apex of the flesh where my shoulder and neck meet. He slowly trails kisses up my neck, the mere contact singeing my skin. My heart beats faster with each lingering peck. “The half-truth is I want our friendship back. You were my best mate at some point. The one person I trusted more than anybody. The one shoulder I could always lean on. The only woman who could always make me laugh, even on my worst day. I miss that. And I want that again.” Even though his words are muffled, I can still feel the weight of their sincerity squeezing my chest as he whispers them to my neck. “And, the full-truth?” I ask breathily, my mind still swirling from this connection. Having his lips on me again feels so right, even though I know it’s wrong. I should stop this, cease all physical contact, but my body won’t let me. “I want so much more than just friendship with you, Alyssa. I want a fresh start. A second chance to be with you. To try all over again. I know you’re scared, and quite honestly, I’m fucking terrified too. But I have no doubt that there’s no other woman like you, my Cherub.” I hum as he sucks on the spot right under my chin, making it very difficult to string the jumbled-up words bouncing in my brain together to make a sentence. “Darren, I—” “Shhh,” he presses a finger to my lips, silencing me. “Please, don’t make your decision now. Spend some time thinking about it. When you have an answer, come find me. Gray house on Sand Dollar Road. Goodnight, Cherub.” With those parting words, he swipes the powdered donut off the table, and exits the premises, leaving me with a lot more questions than answers. Oh, and a newly awakened libido.

About J.P. Nicolas:

J.P. Nicholas has the great misfortune to be A Male Romance Writer. Turns out, men are also hopeless romantics, given half the chance, and Nicholas’ fascination with love began long before he could write. His parents—high school sweethearts who are still mad for each other—left him enamored with the idea of true love, and its ability to transform and redeem even the most jaded soul. Nicholas lives to capture this magic, lust, and passion on the page; his characters known for their sizzling chemistry and chest-squeezing plot lines.   When J.P. Nicholas isn’t tapping away at his laptop, he can be found in his home state of Florida, binge-watching This Is Us with his girlfriend, or devouring Italian food with his family. Blog Tour: Crushing on teh Cop by Piper Rayne

Cristian Bianco has two things against him—he’s a police officer and he’s a police officer in the 18th District…meaning my dad is his boss. Growing up as the Commander’s daughter and having his magnifying glass focused on everything I did was more than I could handle. Now, I’m out on my own, living by my own rules. Well, mostly. The ‘job’ I created for myself has me in some hot water and my exit strategy isn’t exactly working out how I’d hoped. Which is why when my best friend bids on Cristian for me at a charity bachelor auction, I’m not having it. A man in blue is only going to be one thing for me—a problem. Except after his brother starts dating my best friend he becomes harder to ignore. The eight-pack abs. The sense of style only a girl like me can appreciate. The way he puts his family first. It all adds up to make him one irresistible prospect and has me wondering if he knows how to use those handcuffs the right way—by locking my wrists to his headboard. ADD TO GOODREADS

“Not on duty tonight, officer?” I insert sarcasm into my tone because being a bitch will make it easier for him to keep his distance. “Well, Miss Flanagan, I’m off for two days if you’re wondering.” I step away from the keg allowing the lingering guys who are talking about hockey a chance to fill their cups. “That leaves me open for that date.” He cocks an eyebrow. My head falls back in defeat. “There is no date. You have a pass. Most guys would love the chance to get out of a date with the person who wins them at an auction.” He sips his beer. “I’m not most guys.” I sip my beer and don’t respond. He’s right. He’s not most guys. Most guys don’t look like he does. That or I’ve been hanging around the wrong places. “Some might say that most women would love to go on a date with a police officer.” “I’m not most women.” He laughs. One that heats my insides and makes him even more attractive. I know I’m going to be visualizing him the next time I pull out my Unicorn Cock vibrator, but I’ll deal like I always do. “I agree,” he says when he finishes laughing. “Perfect. Then it’s a deal. No date.” I smile and turn on my heel heading toward the bonfire. “Whoa.” His hand gently grabs my arm. I spin back around. “You know that’s not what I was saying. Come on, Vanessa. I need your dad off my back. One date. It’s not going to kill anyone.” I purse my lips, trying to figure out how I’m going to get him to let this topic go. I’ve had one police officer dictating my entire life already, I don’t need another. “Just lie,” I say with a shrug. His strong shoulders sag a bit and he shoots me a look like ‘give me a break.’ His eyes are those of an innocent man who probably always does the right thing. I’m doing him a favor keeping him at arm’s length. “Fine,” I say when the silence stretches out. He smiles. I hold a finger up into the air. “You do one thing tonight that you’d never normally do and I’ll go out with you.” I smirk. Let’s see Mr. Squeaky Clean take me up on that offer. I’m picturing my victory already. “What?” He screws his face up then sips his beer. I cross my arms around my middle, waiting for him to say no way so that I can move on. “You heard me. One spontaneous thing. Here. Tonight.” “Like what?” he asks, his eyes scanning the area around us that I now realize is quickly emptying out. Half these people probably have babysitters to get home to. I shrug. “That’s for you to decide.” His forehead bunches. “What do you want me to do? Jump over the fire or some shit like that?” “I’d prefer if you didn’t end up in the emergency room, so no, I don’t expect you to jump over a roaring fire. That would ruin Maddie and Mauro’s night.” A pissed off look crosses his face and he downs most of his beer. “That’s it, let’s go, Cris. It’s two against two and I need a guy.” Luca, Cristian’s little brother, twirls a soccer ball on his finger as he steps up to us. Lauren follows behind with a girl I don’t recognize. “What?” Cristian glares over at his brother. “I’m not playing soccer tonight in the pitch dark.” He has a point. “Come on Cris. Lauren says she can score five goals on me.” Luca glances over to Lauren who has a shit-eating grin on her face, and he rolls his eyes. Cristian blows out a breath. Lauren saddles up to my side, kicking the soccer ball from Luca’s hands. She does some fancy footwork then kicks the ball in the air before catching it. That girl has coordination I do not. “The answer is no. Find Bentley, he’s over there.” He points toward the bonfire. Luca must know his brother never does something he doesn’t want to do because he barrels away from us without a word. “What’s going on over here?” Lauren asks, walking backward, twirling the soccer ball on one finger like Luca was moments ago. “Nothing,” I say. “Lauren, what’s the craziest thing I can do tonight?” Cristian hollers out and Lauren’s feet stop, staring at me over his shoulder. She knows this game. We play it often. Well, not since college when guys tend to think they can say hello and you’ll be falling all over them. There’s nothing wrong with making them work to impress you a little. It builds character. LOL. Lauren being Lauren pretends to think about it. In the past, we’ve had guys shave their heads or their eyebrows, dress in girl’s clothing, striptease with a pair of girl’s panties on. God knows what Lauren’s going to recommend. “You’re a smart boy, Bianco. Turn the tables,” she says. “What’s the worst thing you could do to Vanessa tonight?” I flip her off. Nice friend I got there. Who wants her? A devilish smile creeps onto Cristian’s lips. “Anyone tell you, you’re a fucking genius, Lauren?” She laughs. “All the time. Tell your brother for me though.” Luca comes over, stealing the soccer ball from her hands, while a guy tripping over his own feet follows behind. The girl and guy standing on the sidelines watching Lauren and Luca argue about who goes first. “So, Officer Bianco, what will it be?” I cock a hip and a brow. “Maybe a date with you isn’t worth the embarrassment?” He steps closer and I back up an inch, unease setting in as his demeanor grows more confident and sure. I shrug. “That’s fine. I’m happy to split ways now.” He takes another giant step forward and sips the remaining beer from his cup, tossing it down to the grass, his gaze intense and set on whatever he’s about to do. “What are you doing?” I ask, my voice weaker than I’d prefer. We’re chest to chest now because he’s taken me by surprise and I forgot to flee with his approach. Okay and maybe his eyes mesmerized me. A little. Not much. “I’m going to do the one thing I didn’t think I’d do tonight.” His voice has dropped an octave and we’re alone in the darkness of the forest now where the warmth of the bonfire has disappeared. A cold chill runs across my cheeks until Cristian’s hands land on either side of my face. “I’m going to kiss you.” His lips fall to mine. Did I say it was cold? It’s not. It’s warm. Cristian’s mouth on mine steals the chill from my body. I should knee him in the balls or at least push him away, but I don’t. Instead, my lips betray me and move in time with his. I wrap my arms around his neck and I rise to my tiptoes, kissing him back. His arms cradle me flush against his body, his tongue exploring mine and under the canopy of the forest, away from any prying eyes, Cristian Bianco sets my body on fire. I love breaking other people’s rules, but I’m not sure about breaking my own.

Review

Crushing on the Cop is book 2 in the Blue Collar Brothers series and it delivers exactly what I expected from Piper Rayne in this story; Humor, drama, and a fun love story between characters that grabbed my attention and held me captive as they fought their feelings.

I was really anxious to see how this story would play out because I wasn't certain I understood the full situation of both of these characters, but I was enthralled to learn more and watch it all come together and play out.

Cristian and Vanessa will suck you in from the start, hoping for things to work out while laughing at the antics between them. They were both uniquely fun characters and that fit well together with this story and who these characters were to the core.

As always Piper Rayne delivered a fun, witty romance with their brand of writing that had me waffling between emotions and rooting for a HEA.  The story also left me looking forward to the last book in this set.

REVIEW

I've been waiting for a new book from this author for a while, and so I was super excited to get my hands on an early copy of. As usual, DeRouen wrote an emotional tale with realistic characters and just the right amount of drama and angst.

Sebastian and Autumn had the perfect friends to lovers tale back in the day, they were neighbors, he was her brother's best friend and their relationship grew and changed as they did. Until a traumatic incident happened that tore them apart and left them both hurting and alone.

Years later, Sebastian finds himself heading home, a bit out of place and feeling lost, but he's determined to find some amount of closure and to do so he has to face the past and the reasons he left; face the people he left behind. Autumn has faced her own hurdles since Sebastian left and she was left with an untrue explanation of the whys to his desertion.

When these two finally get to the truths of their situations, when they discuss their reasons and rehash the incident they discover there is a lot more between them - secrets, misunderstandings, but also a deep love that still remains despite lingering hurt and anger at lost time.

I found myself lost in the emotions of this story, hoping for things to work out between Sebastian and Autumn and hurting with them for what they'd lost in the years apart. There a lot to work through between these two but they above all deserve a second chance.

Review

The Right Mistake was a fun read, one that I didn't want to put down. It was cute and different from a lot of Las Vegas love stories and I found myself drawn to the characters and their story.  This story had a touch of everything I could have asked for bouts of humor, good friends, and an instant connection turned love story with a few surprises.

Avery's been through a lot, and she's got man issues based on her past experiences but her friends get her to let loose with them on the Vegas trip. I really liked the character and watching as she changes from the night in Vegas to returning home.

Gage was also an intriguing character, I wasn't sure what to make of him at first other than I knew he was a good guy with a strong connection to Avery.  The more I got to know him, the more I loved him.

Avery never expected a dare to change her life but that's just what happens when she's out on the town with her girlfriends for a bachelorette trip in Vegas.  The Dare - Kiss a Stranger. The stranger - one Gage Rivers, one enticing man she's instantly more than attracted to.  As things always do in Vegas, a little fun turns into something unexpected. But Can Gage and Avery roll with it and find something more when they leave Vegas and their night together goes back with them.

I have read a lot of Vegas stories, and though a lot of them follow a similar narrative The Right Mistake was a fresh take on plot line and delivered an entertaining swoon worthy romance.

Blog Tour: Fall by Kristen Callihan

The first time I met Jax Blackwood things went a little sideways. In my defense, I didn’t know he was Jax Blackwood—who expects a legendary rock star to be shopping for groceries? More importantly, a blizzard was coming and he was about to grab the last carton of mint-chocolate chip. Still, I might have walked away, but then he smugly dared me to try and take the coveted ice cream. So I kissed him. And distracted that mint-chip right out of his hands. Okay, it was a dirty move, but desperate times and all that. Besides, I never expected he’d be my new neighbor. An annoying neighbor who takes great pleasure in reminding me that I owe him ice cream but would happily accept more kisses as payment. An irresistible neighbor who keeps me up while playing guitar naked–spectacularly naked–in his living room. Clearly, avoidance is key. Except nothing about Jax is easy to ignore—not the way he makes me laugh, or that his particular brand of darkness matches mine, or how one look from him melts me faster than butter under a hot sun. Neither of us believes in love or forever. Yet we’re quickly becoming each other’s addiction. But we could be more. We could be everything. All we have to do is trust enough to fall.

The air between us shifts. I’m filled with a strange giddiness, wanting to laugh for the fun of it, but I’m also too warm, my limbs oddly heavy as if simple movements might be too much for me. His tone turns soft and cajoling, teasing the truth out of me. “Are you going to tell me what you do?” When I say nothing, the corners of his eyes crinkle. “I see. You’re going to torture me a bit.” The warm, fuzzy feeling grows as I shrug. “Torture feels apropos in this scenario.” He hums again, taking another step toward me. “What makes you think I won’t like being tortured by you?” The heat of his body and the scent of his skin makes my head light and my pulse pound. How did it get to this point where the highlight of my day is flirting with Jax Blackwood? Despite the thrill, I know I’m in over my head. I haven’t gone out on a date in months because I form attachments, I get emotional, and then I hurt when they inevitably leave. And this man will leave. He is as bright and fleeting as a camera flash. I’ll be left with the image of him seared into my memory and nothing more. I tell myself all of this, the voice in my head as stern as possible. But it doesn’t make me back away. It doesn’t stop my body from somehow straining toward his without even moving. Because it might be stupid of me, but I want to feel something that isn’t planned. Something, for however briefly, that’s real. He’s too attuned to me not to notice. John’s lids lower as his attention slides down my body before easing back up to my face. Slowly, he rests his forearm on the wall beside my head. “Tell me, Stella,” he murmurs. “No,” I whisper back, flirting, even though I shouldn’t. His biceps bunch as he leans in, a smile dancing on his lips. “Tell.” My breasts graze his chest, and I feel it in my toes. “You’re crowding me.” I hate how breathy I sound. “Can’t help it.” His voice is a rumble, the heat of his breath playing over my skin. He ducks his head, drawing close until our lips nearly brush, and when he speaks again, his tone is almost conversational, except for the husky quality that touches deep within my core. “You smell like strawberries. Fucking delicious.” My lids flutter, and I swallow hard. “Ordinarily, I’d call you out on that cliché but since I’ve been eating strawberries, you aren’t exactly wrong.” His chuckle is slow and easy, as he eases back and his gaze slowly travels over my face. “Were they sweet, Stella Button?” He’s looking at my mouth like he might try to find out. My lips tremble in response, and John tracks the movement, his breathing getting deeper, faster. “You have two freckles on your lips. One on the top lip and one on the bottom corner.” Those damn freckles. They were the bane of my adolescence. I hid them with lipstick and silently cursed whenever someone mentioned them. Freckles don’t have any feelings, but I swear it’s as if he’s touching them. “You’re just noticing this?” I try to make it sound like a joke, but it comes out weak and thready. His own lips quirk. “Oh, I noticed. It’s distracting as hell. They’re like two little dots of butter toffee. Makes me want to lick them, get a taste.” Oh, God. Lick them, please. I can almost feel it. I want to feel it. No. Bad Stella. Behave. John’s lips part a fraction like he just might take that taste. “Back off,” I whisper. And yet somehow my traitorous hands find their way to his sides, running over the waistband of his jeans, holding him there. John makes a sound deep in his throat and tilts his hips, pressing them against mine. A distinctly thick bulge nudges my belly. Both of us lose a breath, and then he’s closer, his cheek touching my temple. “You’ll have to let me go first.” My thumbs slide under the edge of his shirt and find smooth, taut skin. A tremor goes through his body. I try to think, search for what the hell we’ve been talking about. His lips brush the crest of my cheek as he murmurs against my skin. “Tell me what you do, Stella. You know you want to.” My smile feels illicit. Somehow the action is directly tied to all my happy parts, making them draw hot and tight. “I don’t think I do.” Another hum. “Liar. You’re dying to.”

REVIEW

Fall is probably my favorite Kristen Callihan book to date and I've enjoyed every one I've read. There was just something More with this one.  Fall delivers a romance, of course, but more than that it also gives a powerful truth the face of depression and it does so in a way that doesn't overpower the rest of the story.

Stella and John live two very different lives and yet they are also very similar in many ways though neither would have expected it.  They meet in a very normal plain way - it's not everyday you run into a rockstar at the grocery store - and yet there is nothing plain about the connection that exists between them from that day forward.

Life has not been easy for either of these two beautiful people and yet they've found their places in the world even when they've wanted to give up.  I loved that they shared such a deep understanding of each other and that it made them dig deeper with one another.  There's a whole new level of trust between these two that seems to only exist between them and it's equal parts their respect for each other and their past pain and a desire to see the other happy but not even really understanding what it truly means either.

Both of these characters have been hurt, both of them want to shy away from real relationships, from commitment, and yet when they are together all they want is more.  As they open up to each other more and more, it's clear to see that they love each other deeply, they've found the other half of themselves. But can they admit to those feelings and give love a real chance?

Fall was an emotional read, one that had me all up in my feels but also occasionally breathless - in anticipation, in fear, in a state of swoon - all of the above.  It had me relating to the characters in a way I usually don't.  Stella and John's story was moving in a way a lot of romances aren't and though this was a rockstar romance - it felt more than anything - like watching good friends finally get the love they deserved.
