In Stranded with my Stepbrother, we get a story of taboo romance.  Though they've got animosity between them, Bentley and Sierra also have the hots for each other, not that they'd really admit it.  But then and unexpected blizzard prompts them to be stuck in a cabin to weather the storm and in trying to stay safe and protect each other, they can't deny their chemistry and the obvious sparks.  

In Caged, we find Lily, who's torn between two brothers, though she likes them both, her heart truly belongs to only one, but he can't seem to pull it together and act on his own feelings.  Lily knows he's leading a dangerous life, she knows first hand the bad things that can happen, but she also knows there is no one else for her, can she get Cage to open up and see how right they can be together? 

Both of these stories are quick reads.  They have just enough steam to heat things up and though the stories themselves are short, they leave you with a good feeling about how these couples end up.

“Fucking idiot,” he rasped. “He really is a dumbass if he had you and cheated.”

“Maybe I’m the dumbass for dating him in the first place.”

He shook his head while reaching for my hand. “He didn’t realize how lucky he was, but I’d be happy to help you demonstrate it up close and personal.”

My mind was reeling. Brysen had dated a steady stream of gorgeous women during his time in the NFL. I knew this because I’d done some internet stalking after our first appointment and was a little disappointed to see the kind of women he’d dated since there was no way I was his type. Not that I wasn’t confident in myself, but I was nothing like the models he usually had on his arm. “I don’t understand what you mean.”

“You get that I’m a man, right?”

My eyes swept up and down his tall frame, taking in his tousled dark hair, chocolate brown eyes, and rock hard muscles earned over years of being a professional athlete. There wasn’t a woman in the world who didn’t know Brysen Mariano was all man the minute she first laid eyes on him. “Yeah, it’s kinda hard to miss.”

I thought I’d left Blackwater, Texas behind for good. I didn’t belong in the small town, but my dad wouldn’t listen. The chopped hair and dark devil-may-care attitude warned most people away, but I knew if I fought hard enough, I could find the lost girl.
I didn’t want to be her hero. Some girls don’t need to be saved.
I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way, I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things... everyday.
I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors include Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I'm a comedy geek and love all things "funny". Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
