Synopsis:

As an Olympic rookie, Andie Foster has spent far more time in her cleats than between the sheets. For 21 years, her Friday nights have consisted of blocking shots rather than taking them. But now that she's landed in Rio, she's ready to see for herself if the rumors about the Olympic Village are true:
• The athletes are all sex-crazed maniacs...
• The committee passes out condoms like candy...
• The games continue long after the medals have been handed out...
As Andie walks the line between rumor and reality, she's forced into the path of Frederick Archibald, a decorated Olympic swimmer and owner of a sexy British accent--too bad he's unavailable in a way that "it's complicated" doesn't even begin to explain.

In other words: off limits.

It doesn't matter that he has abs that could bring peace to the Middle East and a smile that makes even the Queen blush; Andie fully intends on keeping her focus on the soccer field. But the Village is small. Suffocating. Everywhere Andie goes, Freddie happens to be there--shirtless, wet from the pool, and determined to show her a whole new meaning of the phrase "international affairs".

REVIEW

I LOVED R.S. Grey's Scoring Wilder, so I was super excited to see a spin off of sorts and head back into the soccer world! I was not disappointed! I loved seeing Kinsley and Becca and even Liam again, almost as much as I enjoyed the story brought forth in this book.

I will admit it took me a little while to warm up to this book, but I'm so glad that I continued reading as the story that unfolded was amazing and made me happy to have finished. I loved that this book was filled with a bit of everything, romance, drama, humor, and a bit of everything in between. I loved that we delved into the Olympic world and got to see a unique angle for the players and how that added level built on the story.

I loved Andie and Freddie and their interactions with each other. I loved the relationships between the teams, and how we got to see inner workings. R.S. Grey sucks you right into the drama and you can see and feel everything going on which makes the enjoyment of the story that much better.

Andie is an amazing player, that is undeniable, otherwise why would she have made it to this point, but outside of her sport skills, she's not exactly winning medals. She's sort of lost in a new world when she finds herself liking Freddie. Freddie won my heart fast - I just really loved him.

I love how we get to explore the complexities of their relationship, why it shouldn't work, what they are up against, but also, genuinely see why it has to work out. I love that it wasn't a simple girl meets boy and LOVE! The journey for these two makes this story, there's so much more than a simple "we found love", and we as readers get to feel these emotions and watch as it all plays out.

This story gives us a different view of sports romances, but I enjoyed the ride with all its dips and loops, all the little surprises and all the funny moments. R.S. Grey has another amazing story here and I can't wait for more.

Series Overview

A steamy and suspenseful two-part series by New York Times Bestselling Author Nelle L’Amour, with both novel-length books releasing on the same day!

Sarah: I’m an utter trainwreck. I can barely pay my rent. Mom’s sick and her insurance company won’t cover her experimental drug treatments. To make matters worse, I work for a total bitch, who makes the Devil Wears Prada look like Mother Theresa. Oh yeah, did I mention I’m probably the only twenty-five-year-old in Manhattan who’s never been laid? Then, I met him on a train. Ari Golden, New York’s most eligible and panty-melting bachelor. Don’t ask what happened. I’m ashamed to tell you, but the truth is it really happened to me. I made the biggest mistake of my life…because an unexpected discovery now threatens to destroy us.

Ari: I’ve sworn off women. At least, having them in my bed. No woman is allowed there. I’ve been hurt both emotionally and physically and don’t want to go there again. And besides, I have someone way more important than myself to protect. Then, I saw her, and from the moment I set eyes on her, I knew there was something different about her. Something special. She sat next to me on the train and I couldn’t resist. I should have, and now I risk losing everything if I don’t stop…because my past has come back with a vengeance to haunt me. The last thing I need is another trainwreck.

Hold on to your seats for the steamiest ride you’ll ever take! When the past and the present collide, will fate derail Ari and Sarah or will it bring them to their final destination before they crash and burn?

Excerpt

The next thing I knew, his lips were consuming mine, my face now cradled in his ample hands. My eyes closed, I could hear him softly moaning, as he pressed harder, deepening the kiss. My parted lips made an easy entry for his tongue; it instantly found mine and I couldn’t say no to the warm, velvety suitor. I had wanted his kiss ever since we’d met. Our tongues swirled together, his dancing across my palate and the hollows of my cheeks. Oh God, he tasted delicious. Sweet and minty and just a little salty. Oh what a kisser! Melting, I moaned into his mouth.

Still holding my keys, I wrapped my arms around his neck and raked the unencumbered fingers of my other hand through his thick, damp hair. His hands slithered down my neck to my chest, until they landed on my breasts. Squeezing and massaging them, he brushed his thumbs across my nipples. Desire was pooling between my legs at the speed of a locomotive.

With one arm, he drew me closer to him. I could feel my hard, erect nipples rub against his soaked cotton shirt. I folded my arms around his taut torso, pressing my body tighter against his.

Moving his hands to my waist, he forcefully shoved me against the hard wooden door, pinning me against it with his equally hard body. My groin ached as the hard wedge between his legs pressed against it. I dug my fingers into his narrow hips, clutching the tails of his tennis shirt. He was still kissing me passionately. The wildfire inside me kept spreading. I couldn’t believe this scene—straight out of a movie— was actually happening to me. With this gorgeous, gorgeous creature.

Slowly, he withdrew his tongue from my mouth. His breathing was heavy, his beautiful face with its hooded blue eyes only a palm’s width away from mine. His tongue flicked across my neck and then his warm breath blew in my ear. Clasping a large hand over mine, he expertly transferred my house keys into his possession.

“Saarah,” he whispered, “I need a shower.”

That made two of us. I was dripping wet. Soaked with his sweat and mine. I don’t know whose was whose. Our musky mists mingled.

With two simple twists, he managed to unbolt the double lock. After turning the doorknob, he kicked the door open and, in one smooth move, scooped me up in his arms. I brushed the sweat off his brow and then wrapped my arms around his neck, inhaling the sweet scent of his manly sweat mixed with mine.

Effortlessly, he carried me up the three flights of stairs to my apartment. I ran my fingers through his hair and let myself just enjoy the ride. With every step, the throbbing inside me grew more intense. Along the way, we passed Mrs. Blumberg with her shopping cart. Her eyes grew wide. I simply waved at her, stifling a giggle. I knew what she must have been thinking. Oy! She’s going to let him touch her there.

Oh yes, I was!

Still holding me in his arms, Ari managed to unlock the door to my apartment, again easily with two quick passes of my key. I was beginning to think he had a special talent when it came to inserting things. Be it a key. His tongue. Or his dick. Just like before, he kicked the door open and then kicked it again, slamming it shut behind us.

Embarrassment crept over me. Here was this drop-dead gorgeous billionaire, who probably lived in some Park Avenue penthouse, in my rinky-dink one bedroom apartment. At least, it was clean and tidy. Trainman didn’t stop to notice a thing. Not even Jo-Jo who meowed loudly and brushed up against his legs. As if he’d been here a hundred times before, he carried me straight into the tiny bathroom down the hall. Given that my apartment was only 300 square feet, I guess it wasn’t too hard to find.

After gently setting me down, he yanked the shower curtains apart and turned on the water. A forceful steamy spray poured down from the showerhead. The one thing this apartment had was good water pressure.

“Take off my shirt,” he growled.

Like a stalwart soldier, I did what he asked, my fingers trembling as I lifted his damp shirt over his head. He brushed his taut bronzed chest against mine. A shudder ran through me, all the way down my spine.

“Now pull down my shorts.”

Nervously, I fumbled to undo the button and the fly. His monstrous cock shot through the fly even before I could finish unzipping it. It was aimed at me like it was a rifle and I was the target. As I stood there wordlessly, his white shorts fell to the tiled floor.

“Saarah, get undressed.”

I couldn’t move. I was shocked into paralysis by the magnificent body that stood before me. I had taken sculpting classes at RISD and had studied all the great Italian masters, but nothing compared to the golden-haired Adonis that was standing right here in my bathroom. The serrated muscles of his long legs bulged just the right amount in all the right places and connected seamlessly with those narrow hips and that perfect pelvic-V. My eyes traveled up his lean torso, lingering on his rippled abs, sculpted chest, and manly broad shoulders. And then, they closed in on that chiseled face with its parted lips and gemstone eyes that fixated on me. This man, this god, he belonged in a museum for the world to behold, not here in my hole-in-the-wall bathroom. Except there was no fig leaf in the world that would cover the hunk of hard flesh that jutted out between his legs.

He let out a long, breathy sigh. “Oh, Princess, must I do everything for you?”

I remained paralyzed as he lifted my tank top over my head and yanked down my running shorts. He stepped back and studied me, his lush lips tightening and his eyes narrowing as if they were scrutinizing every fine detail. While it was hot as hell in my un-air conditioned apartment, a chill ran through me as his eyes roamed up and down my body. Maybe he didn’t like what he saw. The impassive expression on his face was unreadable.

Then, that dazzling, dimpled smile broke loose. “Saarah, you’re even more beautiful than I imagined.”

Another shiver shot through me. Had he been fantasizing about what I looked like without my clothes on?

Before I could I build up the courage to ask him, he grabbed my hand and led me into the shower. The hot water poured down forcefully on both of us, soaking us to the bone. Facing me, he yanked the elastic off my ponytail, allowing my wavy chestnut hair to cascade down to the middle of my back. Finding my shampoo, he squirted a few drops on my head and started lathering my scalp as he flutter kissed my face. I closed my eyes and moaned. It felt good. So good. He let the pounding water wash off all the suds before applying the conditioner.

“Mmm, baby, you smell so good.” He nuzzled the nape of my neck while his hands cupped my buttocks. “And you’ve got a great ass too.”

“Thanks,” I mumbled as a hand moved between my inner thighs. I was soaking wet there too, though not exactly from the shower. He began to caress the tender folds with long even strokes. Breathy pants escaped my chest as the slit tucked between them ached for his entry.

With his other hand, he led my hand to his enormous erection, spreading my fingers around the hot, wet column of flesh. He moved my fist up and down, letting go once he knew I knew what to do. As I pumped him with vigor, he squeezed his eyes shut and hissed, “Oh baby, you’re doing it just right. It feels so fucking good.” My reward was the insane pleasure that pulsed between my legs as he began to rub my clit.

“Princess, your gorgeous clit is like a rosebud,” he murmured, his voice all breathy and filled with lust.

I moaned at his words. A beautiful orgasm was blossoming. I threw my head back, channeling my ecstasy into the pleasure I was giving him.

“Now wash my cock, baby. All over,” he ordered, slipping a bar of soap into my free hand.

Another command. Holding his heavy balls in my palm, I ran the bar of soap up and down his long thick shaft from the root to the crown, instinctively applying pressure. When I got to the bulbous tip, I circled the soap around its circumference and heard him blissfully hiss again.

“Now, just use your hand.”

Letting the soap fall to my feet, I did again as he asked and slid my hand along the slick, soapy shaft, surprised how easily it glided across his length. I picked up my pace, applying more pressure. I could feel his cock expanding in my palm, growing harder and bigger with each vigorous stroke. Down below between my thighs, his fingers pressed firmly against my bud, coaxing it to explode in full bloom.

As the shower stall steamed up, my breathing turned ragged and so did his. The tension between my legs was mounting, rapidly heading toward the unbearable.

“Do you want to come with my cock inside that tight little pussy of yours?” He rolled his tongue inside my ear, the strangely erotic sound bringing even more pleasure to where I felt it most.

“Please!” It was a cry of desperation. I wanted him terribly.

Review: The Wedding Pact by Katee Robert

The Wedding Pact by Katee Robert

Date of Publication: April 26, 2016

Blurb

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katee Robert continues her smoking-hot series about the O'Malleys-wealthy, powerful, and full of scandalous family secrets.

Carrigan O'Malley has always known her arranged marriage would be more about power and prestige than passion. But after one taste of the hard-bodied, whiskey-voiced James Halloran, she's ruined for anyone else. Too bad James and his family are enemy number 1.

Hallorans vs. O'Malleys-that's how it's always been. James should be thinking more about how to expand his family's empire instead of how silky Carrigan's skin is against his and how he can next get her into his bed. Those are dangerous thoughts. But not nearly as dangerous as he'll be if he can't get what he wants: Carrigan by his side for the rest of their lives.

If there's one trope I simply love beyond reason -- its anything involving the mafia, television, movies, and of course books.  So when I saw this book I squeed a little with glee and dove right in.  I don't know what I love more, the bad boys doing mostly bad things, but most often having good hearts, the dangers, the risks, or just the super suspense the life builds around a set of characters.  The drama definitely sucks you in, leaving you breathless with anticiaption, with worry, and  occasionally making you swoon. Katee Robert's O'Malley series is no different, its full of suspense, danger, bad guys, and above all else embroils you into massive family drama(s).

On top of all of that, The Wedding Pact also holds the allure of forbidden love/star-crossed lovers.

The story brings us  two Mafia families embroiled in shall we say power struggles and deeply perosnal battles as well.  They can sometimes work together, but there are strains and the relationships are tenous at best most of the time.  After the latest set of issues between the families, it seems as if War could be looming.

Carrigan O'Malley, is the oldest daughter of her mob boss father, a man who above all else seeks power and money and a desire to always come out on top.  He cares little about the opinions of others when it comes to such matters, especially not the wishes of his children.  Which brings us to the vein of the story, Carrigan's father has decreed she's to choose her groom within a time period, to make it even less of a genuine choice - she's given a list of those whom a marriage too would further her father.  She feels stuck because she knows her father and how dangerous it would be if she or anyone else crossed him in these wishes, but Carrigan also wants to marry for love.

James Halloran finds himself in a hard position, taking over the family business in place of his father, who's in prision.  Tensions among the other families are high, and James finds himself dealing with further dissension in the ranks of his own family and those they employ. But something else James is coming to terms with are his feelings for one Carrigan O'Malley.

The Wedding Pact brings us high emotions, stolen (steamy) moments, chemistry that sizzles, and a battle for love that wasn't expected.  This story is action packed with a side of drama, but also brings on the sexual tension and romance you crave.  Carrigan and James both are amazingly strong and want more than the life they were given, more than what they were told they had to be (and do).   This story takes them on a journey, a journey together, one that involves moving past obstacles, both current and from the past, and moving forward with the understanding that it can be dangerous to do so.   I look forward to the next book in the sereis and delving further into the world of these mafia families.

About Katee Robert

Katee Robert learned to tell stories at her grandpa's knee. Her favorites then were the rather epic adventures of The Three Bears, but at age twelve she discovered romance novels and never looked back.
Though she dabbled in writing, life got in the way-as it often does-and she spent a few years traveling, living in both Philadelphia and Germany. In between traveling and raising her two wee ones, she had the crazy idea that she'd like to write a book and try to get published.
Her first novel was an epic fantasy that, God willing, will never see the light of day. From there, she dabbled in YA and horror, before finally finding romance. Because, really, who wouldn't want to write entire books about the smoking-hot relationships between two people?
She now spends her time-when not lost in Far Reach worlds-playing imaginary games with her wee ones, writing, ogling men, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.

WEDDING PACT
James had thought he'd imagined the fear in Carrigan's voice when she called. If she was in actual trouble, she sure as hell wasn't going to call him—no matter how much he liked the idea of being the one to swoop in and save her from her problems. He liked the idea too much.
But then she walked into the quiet little pub where he was waiting and he realized he hadn't been wrong the first time. There were faint bruises beneath her eyes, like she'd been sleeping even less than he had, and she held herself like a woman who'd been beaten for the first time. He was on his feet before he made a conscious decision to move. "Who hurt you?"
"No one."
"Don't play that martyr bullshit with me, Carrigan. Who the fuck put that look on your face?" She'd gone through hell and back because of him and it hadn't put that haunted expression in her green eyes. He clenched his fists, trying and failing to get control of his temper. She wasn't his to protect. Hell, even if she was, he had a pretty shitty track record of keeping people in his care safe. There was no reason why she'd be any different.
Except that he wanted her to be different.
She brushed past him, drawing his attention to her clothing. "What the hell are you wearing?"
Carrigan spun and glared. "I don't need your shit right now."
"You called me, lovely, so my shit is exactly what you're going to get." She looked like an angel—one that had had its wings clipped. He wasn't sure what gave him that impression, but the long white dress was opposite of everything he'd found the woman to be in the short time they'd known each other. She was wild and impulsive and free. She wasn't…this virginal almost-bride. He didn't like the change. He didn't like it one bit. "Sit your ass down. I'll get us drinks, and then you're telling me what the fuck is going on."
"Don't hold your breath on that."
He wouldn't have to. She might be prickly as all get out, but she wanted to talk. She wouldn't have called him otherwise. The bartender met him halfway, a nervous little mouse of a guy. James made an effort to speak softly because the man looked half a second from pissing himself at the idea of a Halloran in his bar. "Whiskey for me. Dirty martini for the lady."
He made his way back to where Carrigan had picked a booth. Ignoring the empty side, he slid in next to her.
The bartender appeared with their drinks, and James waited for him to scurry away before he spoke again. "Talk to me. I can't help you if I don't know what's wrong."
"No one can help me."
The raw pain in her voice made him want to comfort her, but that was one skill James had never learned. Maybe if his mother had lived…But there was no room in this world for "what if" and "maybe." So he did the one thing that he knew how to do. The single thing guaranteed to distract her.
He kissed her.
Carrigan went rigid for half a second, but he waited, his lips on hers, and let her choose. That hesitation was all it took for her to melt, turning to fire in his arms. He wanted to haul her against him, to let this feeling consume him until none of the bullshit mattered anymore. Right now, in this moment, there was only her. They could be the last two people in the world for all he gave a fuck. Hell, part of him hoped they were. As her tongue stroked his, a small, treacherous thought wormed into his brain and took root.
With this woman by my side, I'd be content to let the rest of the world burn.

Review: Return of the Bad Boy by Jessica Lemmon

Return of the Bad Boy by Jessica Lemmon

Date of Publication: April 26, 2016

He's a mess...
Asher Knight has three constants in his life: music, beautiful women, and a bottle of Jack. He lives for the next gig, the next city, and dreams only of a life spent in front of an arena full of screaming fans. But Asher's nomad ways come to a sudden stop when he learns he's the father of a three-year-old from a past relationship and suddenly this rock star bad boy is forced to put down roots.

Only she can clean up
Gloria Shields is no one's fool. Sure, the sexual chemistry between her and Asher has always been intense, but she'd never risk giving her heart to a man who has a perfect record for breaking them. Except the man desperate to make things right with his newfound son is nothing like the rock god she's guarded her heart against for years. And it isn't long before she starts to wonder if life with this bad boy might be the best thing that's ever happened to her.

Available From

Gloria and Asher have a past and it goes beyond that of Agent and Client but there's a lot of hurt from the past, distrust and misunderstandings.  Now Gloria and Asher are together again, only this time, He's fighting for his chance.

Gloria had made an assumption about an incident that happened with Asher and in doing so, she created a rift between them, one that led to fights and intense tension.  When she finally starts believing she was wrong about what happened, she's hit with another painful truth, Asher has a son. Gloria wants things to return to a calm and normal working relationship with Asher, even if it means trying to forget the best night of her life. She doesn't want to be hurt again, she doesn't believe she can put her trust into this man and have him be gentle with her heart.

Asher came to The Cove for two main reasons, the first and most important, to get to know his son, and form a bond and relationship with him, the second, to make Gloria his.  He knows he's made mistakes in the past, but he finds he really wants to be a better man, and he wants Gloria by his side. But the work is cut out for him.

I love how Jessica Lemmon is able to pull you into the story, and make you feel like you know these characters, Here's this rock star and his agent and their friends, and yet, they seem so real like you'd be friends if you lived in their town.   Return of the Bad Boy was a fun story, at times I couldn't contain my laughs, but there were also more serious deep moments, and at times emotional and lets not forget the steamy scenes as well. All together the book held my interest and kept me rooting for Asher and Gloria to figure it out and end up happy together.

I have not read all of the previous books in this series, but I was able to follow along with no problem, so I would say for sure that this one is a standalone - though for myself, I'll be going back and picking up the previous books.  I love the family vibe throughout this book, these people don't just work together, they aren't just friends, they've become something much deeper than that and have become close enough to care deeply about each other and want only the best.

Jessica Lemmon has a beautiful way with words that not only hook you, but also have you invested in the story, they make the world come alive and you feel like you are apart of it.  Not all authors can do that and it adds that special touch to the books when an author can.

Gloria nodded at Evan, and he and Brice made their way through the crowd—which hadn't thinned even a little despite the band leaving the stage—and walked in the direction of the bar. Gloria figured they'd get back about the time the band took the stage again, which left her with Asher in the interim.
"I didn't realize you were invited," she said over the melee.
"I see that." The corners of his mouth turned down.
"Why did he invite you?" she asked, curious.
"He wants me," Asher said, a bored expression on his face.
"No. He wants me." She pressed her fingers into her chest.
Asher leaned closer to speak to her and it took everything in her not to back away a step. Him close had a way of messing with her equilibrium...even more than the whiskey.
"I meant he wants to sign the band, Sarge. He's probably buttering you up to get to me."
"What?" she asked, slightly offended. "How egotistical are you?"
"I'm not being egotistical," he said. "That's a fact. And you're welcome."
Oh, he was too much. "I'm welcome?"
"Yeah. Now that I'm here, you won't have to touch him. He won't get within three feet of you." Stubble lined his jaw, fire burned in his eyes, and he stood close enough that his body heat blanketed her. "Promise."
"Listen, Asher"—she cleared her throat and tore her eyes away from his biceps, which were absolutely delicious and testing the limits of his T-shirt in the most distracting way possible—"I don't know what you think you're doing—"
"No, you listen." He palmed her hip much like Brice had earlier, but unlike Brice, when Asher touched her, her nipples perked up and every inch of her grew warm. Asher's nearness, one hand gripping her firmly as he looked down at her with dark hunger in his eyes, was so hot she couldn't think.
The crowd milling around them were having loud, drunken conversations, so he lowered his face to her ear to speak.
"I'm coming for you, Sarge." His hand moved from her hip to her lower back, his fingers splaying wide and slipping beneath the material of her shirt. "Bet you've never had anyone come for you, have you?" His nose moved along her ear, warm breath tickling her skin. "Bet you were a rebellious teen with a nose ring and a bad attitude and all you wanted was to feel good."
No nose ring, but the rest was scarily accurate.
"Well, guess what, honey?" he continued, his fingertips sizzling on her bare skin. "I'm going to make you feel good. I'm the only one who can."
He pulled his face away and she had to will her mouth to close. Her teeth clacked together as her brain scrambled to figure out what part she should argue with first. Wrenching a fist around his T-shirt, she tugged him close. A small smile played on his mouth, and his hand went higher beneath her shirt. He was anticipating a kiss, but she wasn't going to kiss him.
"Listen up, you arrogant bastard." Anger vibrated through her arms and a charge shot from her toes to the crown of her head. "You don't get to claim me. I'm not your property. I can do whatever I want." Because she wanted to wipe that stupid smirk off his face, she added, "And I can do whomever I want."
His lips flinched, but he didn't back away, stepping even closer and touching the tip of her nose with his. Her vision was now swimming in dark hair, dark eyes, and the sexiest smirk she'd ever seen.
It's not sexy. It's stupid, remember?
But it wasn't. And the rest of her knew it. Her nipples tightened, her body tingled, and the hand she'd wrapped around his shirt began to sweat . . .
