Available June 7th
You met them in DREAM A LITTLE DREAM OF ME. Now prepare to fall in love with THE YOUNGERS, a brand-new series from Iris Morland, full of sexy men, passionate women, and the love stories you can't get enough of.
A free-spirited artist and animal activist, Thea Younger only wants to make the world a better place. She’s a lover, not a fighter—except when it comes to people like the ruthless billionaire Anthony Bertram.
Anthony represents everything that she detests, no matter how handsome or rich he is. When Thea has the opportunity to take part in a social media campaign to hurt his company, she jumps at the chance.
Merciless and driven, Anthony Bertram built his company from the ground-up, dedicating every waking moment to creating one of the most powerful corporations in the world.
Yet he almost lost it all when his marriage fell apart. Embittered from his divorce, Anthony knows from experience that love only makes you weak.
When his company is threatened a second time by a slanderous social media campaign, Anthony vows to discover who is behind the lies and to take that person down.
But then fate intervenes. Thea’s much-needed vacation takes a turn when she finds herself trapped in a cabin with none other than Anthony himself.
Thea wants to hate Anthony, but as she gets to know the man behind the mask, she realizes he isn’t a monster at all. He’s all man—and one whose kisses she can’t resist. Desire flames between them until both surrender to exquisite temptation.
But as secrets loom over them, Thea and Anthony must look inside their hearts and find the courage to take a chance on love.

Read an excerpt from TAKING A CHANCE ON LOVE:

It wasn't until Saturday, an entire week after Thea and Anthony had arrived, that the rain finally stopped. By that point, the entire cabin was surrounded by mud and puddles that resembled small lakes. Despite the mud, when the sun peeked out from behind the clouds, Thea put on her hiking boots and jacket and headed outside. She and Anthony had avoided each other since their confrontation in her bedroom. They'd barely spoken more than ten words to each other altogether. That was fine with Thea. She just hoped that now that the rain had stopped, she could get out of here. Her resolve to stay had disintegrated in the face of actually having to be around Anthony Bertram. And despite wanting to find some kind of dirt that she could relay to Mittens, she wasn't exactly going to get results by not speaking to him. Or even getting near him or his things. Thea sighed happily as she felt the sun on her face. Even though mud sucked at her boots with every step, she didn't care one bit. She could clear her head, take in some fresh air, and maybe figure out how she was going to stay in this cabin with the worst man in existence for who knew how much longer. Thea's progress was slow as she went downhill, even slower than the first time she and Anthony had come down here. At one point, she got her foot stuck in a particularly sticky patch of mud, and she had to yank herself free, almost falling on her butt. Thea wandered to where the bridge had collapsed. It looked worse than a few days ago. Old lumber was splintered in half from the trees that had fallen onto the bridge. The creek had turned practically into a river with all of the rain. Thea's stomach twisted at the sight. She and Anthony weren't going anywhere anytime soon, that was for sure. Walking parallel to the creek, she let her thoughts wander. Her heart lifted the further she walked from the cabin. She wished she could just walk all the way home and never see Anthony Bertram again. The night before, she'd caught him coming out of the bathroom in nothing but a towel. She'd frozen, staring at him, deeply annoyed at how damn handsome he was. As if he knew her what she was thinking, with his towel hugging him low on his hips and camouflaging nothing, he'd grinned. Thea had stood her ground, refusing to scamper back to her room like a scared little rabbit. His scent had curled toward her, spicy and masculine. His hair had curled against his forehead slightly, something so surprisingly playful when the rest of him was so hard and unmovable that Thea wished she could touch that single curl. His cheeks were freshly shaven, but she could still make out the dark grain of his beard. She had a feeling he always had a five o'clock shadow by the end of the day. Anthony had brushed past her to get to his room right then, but not before he’d leaned down and whispered, "You're drooling." A moment later, Thea had slammed the bathroom door shut so hard that it had shaken the cabin. Thea blew out a breath as she walked. So what if Anthony was handsome? She wasn't dead. She also wasn't going to get her panties damp over a total asshole, either. His kind of arrogance didn't turn her on. In fact, it was a huge turn-off. His handsomeness definitely did not get her panties wet in any way, shape, or form. The thought of kissing him? Disgusting. Totally, completely, absolutely…disgusting.

Review: Screwed by Kelly Jamieson

Title: Screwed
Author: Kelly Jamieson
Release Date: May 28, 2018

Synopsis:

Cash Hale has been in love with his best friend’s wife forever. Now Callie and Beau are divorced, but she’s still way off-limits. Dating her would betray his friendship with Beau. And Cash is nothing if not loyal.

Callie Sutherland is starting over. The end of her marriage was just one more way she failed to live up to her wealthy family’s expectations, so from now on she’s not even going to try. It’s time to live her life the way she wants. And she wants Cash.

Cash and Beau aren’t just friends, they’re business partners, and the drop in the price of oil has hurt their business. They need to win the bid for Sutherland Industries’ next big project—but it may get messy since Callie’s family owns the business. Not only would Cash risk his friendship with Beau to be with her, he’d be risking the company they worked so hard to create.

But this new Callie isn’t taking no for an answer.

He’s so screwed...

REVIEW

Screwed was a quick but amazing read, it was a fun twist on a usual trope and delivered a story that not only sucked me in, but had me rooting for a win.

Cash and Callie are friends of a sort, they've known each other for years because of Callie's now ex-husband, Beau - who is not only Cash's friend, but also his business partner.  And Cash is holding on to a secret - he's been in love with Callie for years - but it would never work, he knows he can never act on those feelings, even if Callie is divorced.  But then things change when Callie is initiating things that bring those feelings to the forefront.  Will Cash risk his professional future for his personal one?

I loved Callie's character, she's sweet, a little bit funny, and not one to take betrayal sitting down.  Though she's not quite sure what to do with her life now that she's officially divorced, but she has been finding her own way and what makes her happy.  I felt connected to Callie, as if we'd be good friends and I'd want to be around her.

I also enjoyed Cash and I especially liked watching as he fought himself against his feelings believing that he couldn't and shouldn't act on them.  I really loved how Jamieson wrote his inner struggle as it came off as not only believable but brought the emotions to a deeper level.

Screwed was full of steamy moments, splashes of humor, and an intense chemistry between Callie and Cash.  The story was compelling and left me unable to put my kindle down until I'd read the very last word - and then I wanted to go back in the story so I'd still have more.

EXCERPT

The ropes around his wrists were long enough Polly didn’t have to untie him. Kingsley simply rolled onto his stomach and moved back into place, the ropes twisting into a knot. The pressure on his wrists was comfortable, but tight enough to feel like a pair of strong hands. Strong hands on his wrists, Kingsley lying prone, someone about to take him…
Just like high school.
“I see you smiling,” Polly said as she moved off the bed to do whatever it was she needed to do.
“Just remembering,” he said. “It’s funny. I don’t usually smile when I remember…”
“What?”
“Anything,”
Polly kissed the back of his shoulder. “I’ll give you a memory to make you smile.”
Kingsley let out a breath of pleasure as Polly laid her hand flat on the small of his back and caressed him there.
“This is my favorite part,” she said.
“Back rubs?”
“No, silly boy. Backs are my favorite part. Boy backs. My favorite body part,” she said. “Right here.” With her fingertips she lightly scored the center of his back where his tailbone met his spine. “Maybe that’s why I love doing this so much. The view of you is divine…”
With a compliment like that, how could Kingsley object to anything she wanted to do with his body? Polly whispered instructions in his ear. He did as told, and he did it with pleasure. He pulled his knees up under him and spread them. Polly worked the plug out of him carefully.
She positioned herself behind him and started to slowly…slowly…slowly enter him. Too slowly.
Polly told him to lay flat, to stretch out his legs—however was most comfortable for him. He was under the strictest of orders to tell her the second he felt a moment’s pain. But there was no pain, no discomfort. Fullness, yes. Not pain. Not like he’d known once.
“You like this, don’t you?” Polly said as she kissed and licked the back of his neck. “Being taken? Penetrated? Used?”
“Very much.”
“Say it then,” she said.
“Say what?”
“Say you like penetration. You said you aren’t shy, so say it. Or are you shy?”
He opened his mouth, laughed softly. “You make me feel shy. It’s an accomplishment.”
“Kingsley…” Polly said as she nibbled on his earlobe. “Say it or I’ll stop fucking you…” Her voice was teasing, but the order was an order. It had to be obeyed.
“I like being penetrated,” he said. “There. Happy?”
“So very happy. If I keep doing this,” she said and thrust into him, “will you come?”
“Yes.”
“You’re sure?”
“I would bet my life on it.”
“You’ve come from penetration alone before?”
“I have.”
“High school?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know?”

REVIEW

As a lover of the Original Sinners series, I'm always deliciously anticipating how a new book with these characters will proceed and Reisz never fails to surprise me with something in them.  The writing, as always, sucked me in from page one and held me captive from one page to the next, all while falling deeper in love with these characters.

I loved going back in time, as it were, with Kingsley and learning more about what made him the man he is today.  I've always enjoyed the glimpses into Kinglsey's past and this book was no different - except it was a whole lot more than I expected.  Don't get me wrong, it was filled with the same deliciously dirty fun you'd expect from Kingsley but there was so much more.

As one would expect The Chateau was filled with twists and turns and unexpected surprises along the way. This story is so much more than Kingsley's undercover work at a sex cult, there is much to be learned, much to glean from this part of his life.

With visits from Soren throughout, I felt like I was back with my friends, because I've missed these characters.  I hope there are many more stories to come involving the Original Sinners and their lives and stories because I don't think I'll ever get enough of them.

I was lucky enough to receive and early copy of this book from 8th Circle Press, but all of the thoughts on this story are mine.

Damn. As if he’d spoken out loud, Beth’s eyes fluttered open. Lifting her head, she looked across the bar, over to where he sat, aching...and right into his eyes. Earlier today her eyes had been the color of the afternoon sky, but now they were sapphire fire, the flames licking along his skin. His gut tightened as she smiled lazily, then slowly, sensually disengaged herself from the tangle of limbs. Behind her, the couple continued their dance, but Ford didn’t care—his eyes were on the woman who was crossing the room toward him with slow, deliberate undulations of her hips. “Fancy meeting you here, Sir Lassiter.” She stopped well into his personal space, and that vanilla perfume made his mouth water and his jaw clench. “Sir?” He arched an eyebrow and tried really hard not to do what he wanted, which was to reach out and place his hands at her waist, to slide her shirt up and feel the warmth of her skin beneath. “Mmm, you seem like a sir.” Beth smiled and inched closer, stepping right between his spread thighs. He felt his expression darken—she knew exactly what she was doing, what she was asking for. “What makes you say that?” His instincts told him to tug her flush against his body, to press her to him so she could feel exactly what she was doing to him. He did not. “You seem all proper and noble...like an aristocrat. A knight. Sir Lassiter.” Beth nudged forward just a whisper, and he felt the curve of her hip press into his inner thigh. His mouth went dry. “Like you’re trying so hard to do what you think is right. But tell me something.” Tilting her head back, she looked up into his eyes, searching. “Why is denying yourself something that you want, that we both want, the right thing? I know you feel it, too.” Her open question gutted him. He’d been in the boardroom with billionaires, with sheikhs, with sharks, and he’d bested them all. The little woman who smelled like cupcakes? She was bringing him to his knees. “I—” He started to explain, but she cut him off, stepping back, her sudden frown breaking the spell. “I see.” Her lips pinched together in a mockery of a smile. “I’m not the kind of woman you want to get involved with, right? Not even for a night. Let me assure you, that’s your loss.” Wait...what? “Wait just a damn minute.” When Beth would have turned, Ford did as he’d imagined, catching her by the waist and hauling her back into the vee of his legs. This time her pelvis connected with the steel length of his erection, and he savored her sharp little intake of breath. “What do you mean?” “I think it’s pretty self-explanatory.” Beth regarded him coldly, though she didn’t back down. “My hair, my tattoos... I’m far too wild for you.” “Oh, do you think so?” The way she was looking up at him, so certain she was right, was a challenge, and he felt something inside him roaring to life to meet it. She thought he was turned off because she wasn’t his usual type? Well, he couldn’t deny that she was not at all the kind of woman he was usually drawn to, and his instant attraction to her puzzled him more than a bit. But that wasn’t the problem. The problem was what she made him feel. “I don’t give a damn about the color of your hair or the ink on your skin. Got it?” The need to prove that she wasn’t the problem was quickly overriding his sense of restraint, the only other thing that had held him back from accepting her sweet offer that afternoon. “I don’t know you, yet you make me want things I’m not comfortable wanting. Make me feel things I shouldn’t.” His hands at her waist squeezed, hard, to emphasize his point, and he savored her resultant shudder, which ratcheted up his own excitement. “Why would you be uncomfortable wanting something if it doesn’t hurt anyone else?” She was watching him again, lids heavy over those big eyes. “Or maybe you think that it is hurting someone?” He kept his stare on her face, absorbing every nuance of her expression, which was open, honest. Something told him that Beth Marchande wasn’t going to be disgusted with the demands he might make of her. “Sometimes a little bit of hurt is good, Sir Lassiter...especially when I’m begging you for it.” “Fuck.” Dragging his hands up her sides, over her rib cage and the swell of her breasts, Ford clasped Beth by the shoulders and tugged her forward, crushing her smirking lips to his own. Rather than offering him a kiss as sweet as the vanilla she smelled of, she moaned beneath the pressure and opened, her tongue surging out to tangle with his. One hand slid behind her head and fisted in the long mane of raven and amethyst hair, just as his fingers had itched to. He tugged her head to the side roughly and then dragged his lips down the column of her throat, settling over her pulse and sinking his teeth in to claim. “Well, what’s it going to be, Sir Lassiter?” Beth’s breathy question rasped in his ear, and she shuddered when his teeth marked her skin. “Are you going to be good? Or are you going to be bad? What do you think?” Shoving his glass aside—he felt intoxicated just from being near her—Ford stood, making sure that every plane of his body glided against hers as he did. Her eyes glittered with the same need that he felt as he quickly pulled a fifty from his wallet and tossed it onto the surface of the bar. “I think...” Ford deliberately wrapped his fingers around her own, drawing them up to his lips to nip. “I think that we’re going to go back to my room right now. And I’m going to find something better for that smart mouth to do.”

About Lauren Hawkeye

Lauren Hawkeye/ Lauren Jameson never imagined that she’d wind up telling stories for a living… though when she looks back, it’s easy to see that she’s the only one who is surprised. Always “the kid who read all the time”, Lauren made up stories about her favorite characters once she’d finished a book… and once spent an entire year narrating her own life internally. No, really. But where she was just plain odd before publication, now she can at least claim to have an artistic temperament.

Lauren lives in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada with her husband, toddler, pit bull and idiot cat, though they do not live in an igloo, nor do they drive a dogsled. In her nonexistent spare time Lauren can be found knitting (her husband claims that her snobby yarn collection is exorbitant), reading anything she can get her hands on, or sweating her way through spin class. She loves to hear from her readers!

CHAPTER REVEAL
PROLOGUE

“If it’s what you want to do, then go, son.” Mom dusts off the speckles of flour from the front of her apron. “If it’s what your heart wants, you have to follow it.”
I drop my head into the palms of my hands. My elbows grate against the worn grains of our dinner table. He’s going to hate me. This farm symbolizes everything he wants. I’m the one to take it over. My heart isn’t in it.
“Trenton.” Mom’s hand comes down on my shoulder. Her gentle, loving lips graze my cheek. “Follow your dreams. Your dad will be pissed. Shit, he’ll be livid, tearing the house apart once he finds out. He’s going to cuss, calling you every name in the book.”
Mom pauses, steadying her breathing. Her loving arms never leave my trembling shoulders. This shit is ridiculous. Fuck, I just graduated high school. I’m an adult by all means, yet a terrified child.
“Go, Trenton, leave this ranch and go explore the world. Your dad will come to grips with it. Just never forget your momma.”
“I…”
Mom cuts me off and ushers me to the door. She slings my duffle bag over my shoulder and places my truck keys in my hand. Mom gifts me with one loving kiss on my cheek before she pushes me out the door.
I left home forever that day and never looked back. The pain of disappointing Dad wasn’t lost on me.

I’ll say this about Christian — he made one hell of a first impression. When I first saw the strapping man, he was doing handstands naked on a dock along the canal. His crown jewels were far more entertaining than anything else I’d seen on the boat tour, so I did what any curious woman would do — I took his photo. I might have looked at the shot a few dozen times. Little did I know I’d meet him again, a year later, at a secret garden bar in the heart of the city, where I’d learn that his mind and his mouth were even more captivating. But given the way my heart had been trampled, I wanted only a simple deal — No strings. No expectations.

Our arrangement worked well enough until the day I needed a lot more from him…

***

Let me just say, this whole part-time lover thing was her idea. I’d have gone all-in from the start, but hey, when a gorgeous, brilliant woman invites you into her bed, and only her bed…well, I said yes.

But then, one hysterical phone call from my brother later, begging me to find myself a wife so grandfather’s business stays in the family, and I need a promotion with Elise. Turns out a full-time husband suits her needs too, and a temporary marriage of convenience ought to do the trick, until we can simply untie the knot…

As long as no one finds out… As long as no one gets hurt… As long as no one falls in love… But our ending was one I never saw coming.

EXCERPT

~Christian~
I stroll up the hilly yard toward my house, passing my brother, Erik, who stands close to the porch. “Did you scare them all away? Admit it—they cringed in terror, scary movie—style.”
I slash an arm through the air. “Whole boatload of them. Tears, shrieks of horror. Wailing.”
He cringes dramatically.
“Toss me a towel, will you? Or do you want to continue to admire your more fit and handsome younger brother?”
Erik scoffs and throws the towel over the porch railing, away from me.
I shrug. “I’ll just go inside, and you can check out my arse.”
“You can count on me never ever checking out your arse.”
I grab the handle on the sliding-glass door and head inside to one of my homes. You can’t beat a home on the water. But then, a flat in Paris is hard for me to say no to as well. Good thing I get to have both.
I grab the pair of boxer briefs I left on the couch and tug them on as Erik follows me inside.
“Seriously. How did it go?”
“Exceptionally well. I landed a date tonight.”
“Bastard. You’re not supposed to get dates when you flash the tourists, and especially not when your beloved brother is only in town with you for a few days.” Most of the time Erik’s in London, where we were raised.
“Jealous much?” I ask, heading for the fridge and pouring a glass of cold water.
Erik flexes a bicep, then another, posing like he’s Mr. Olympia. “I’ve scored plenty of dates with this fabulous physique. Just none lately.”
“That would be because you’re married, you tosser.”
He flashes a dimpled grin. He’s so ridiculously in love with his wife, it’s nearly disgusting. He could be the poster child for man-who-falls-arse-over-elbow-for-a-woman. That’s something I can’t say for all the men in my family.
“I’m like Grandfather, happy as a clam.”
I furrow my brow. “How does anyone know clams are happy? Is there a study on clam happiness? We all assume they’re rays of sunshine, but how do we know?”
He scratches his chin. “Good question.”
“I bet they aren’t happy at all. I bet they feel nothing. Is that what happiness should feel like? Nothing?”
He sighs. “Aren’t you philosophical today?”
“Maybe. It happens every now and then.” I take a drink of the water. “But what can you do? Sometimes deep thoughts stray into my brain, and I can’t help it.”
“Best to get them out of your head if you have a date tonight.”
“Perhaps she likes thinkers,” I suggest.
“So who is she? Did you exchange numbers on the dock? Or did you, I don’t know, play charades with your appendages swinging in the breeze?”
“Yes. I can do Morse code with my dick.”
“Such a useful skill,” he deadpans.
“We did it the old-fashioned way. Picked a spot to meet and a time.”
He raises his chin. “And why her? Of all the ladies on all the tours you’ve ever flashed, you haven’t asked one out before. Not that you’ve told me about anyway.”
I let my brain rewind to the petite brunette with the big sunglasses who ogled me unabashedly from the side of the boat. She was pretty, that much I could tell even from fifty feet away.
But pretty alone isn’t enough. Pretty is a dime a dozen. I’ve dated women who aren’t pretty, but are witty, clever, and keep me on my toes. I like those traits just as much. Perhaps more. But I’m not opposed to pretty either.
Obviously.
“She was bold. She called out bravo. She said it louder than anyone ever has.”
“So she knows how to read your Morse code.”
“She’s welcome to read Morse code on me anytime. Come to think of it, she can even treat me like I’m fruit at the market.”
Erik laughs. “In some countries, they don’t let you touch fruit at the market.”
I gesture to my body, from my chest down to my legs. “In the fine country of Christian Land, it’s highly encouraged for the bold brunettes to touch the fruit.”
