“Royce,” she begged.
All it took was my name raking up her throat for me to completely lose it. No control left.
Fuck it.
Only thing that mattered was getting closer.
I lifted her from the ground, one arm around the small of her back and the other wrapped up in her hair. I pulled her to my hungry mouth, kissing her wild, lips and tongues and teeth.
Cherry coated her sweet tongue, and need thrummed her heart into a fury.
“You were right, what you said. You were right,” she whispered frantically. “I want you to take away the pain. Take it . . . just for a little while. Just for tonight.”
Fuck.
I was a bastard.
A monster.
But I couldn’t stop.
I let my lips travel over her jaw and tumble down her throat, both my hands holding her by the face. The girl’s head rocked back on the wall where we were right out in the open, gasping and panting for air as I devoured her sweet flesh.
The girl completely surrendered.
Shit.
This was bad. So bad.
I ripped myself back, which was a goddamn travesty in itself. “We have to get out of here. Right fucking now.”

Dare to Resist kicks off a new series of Dares, Dare Nation.  This first book, gives us the tail of Austin Prescott, his unexpected baby and the love he finds with his personal assistant in the wake of that discovery. 

Quinnlyn knows one thing, she doesn't want children, she's had her fill of raising other peoples children without being asked and as such knows she doesn't want to continue the trend with her own. This has caused her to be misunderstood by her own family, friends, and even the fiance she thought was on board with her. So when her boss calls her up asking for help with the baby left with him, She never expected to have her feelings change, but something about Austin and his daughter draw her in and she's left confused about how she wants to proceed. 

Austin never expected to have a  baby show up on his doorstep, never expected to love her right away either or that he could be a good father. But after a little while, he realizes he can't walk away from this baby, even if it turns out she's not his.  But he also knows that he wants Quinnlyn for more than a work assistant and baby help, but doesn't want to be unfair to her wishes either. 

As these two bond over late nights and baby duty, they find much more between them, but can they make it work long term? 


Dare to Resist was a sweet story that drew me in from the start and left me satisfied at the end.  I'm looking forward to what the rest of Dare Nation brings these characters.

REVIEW

May Contain Wine is the latest book int eh Swat Generation 2.0 series and brings us Calloway and Louis' story and boy is it a doozy.  

You see Calloway and Louis were High school sweethearts - until Louis messed up and caused quite the rift between them.  He realized immediately the mistake he'd made, but Calloway wasn't ready for an apology or to listen to his reasons, so for years, she'd avoided him.  Now Louis has one final chance to show her how he really feels, and that his heart has remained hers - if she'll give him the time of day. 

Calloway never stopped loving Louis, never found it in her to forgive, forget, or move on.  So when Louis is suddenly right there, pushing his way back into her life in some way, she's not sure how to proceed.  Heart and head are a little wary. 

I really enjoyed watching as these two found their second chance with each other. Their interactions were fun, flirty, and often full of heart. I've been curious to know more about these two since the series started, and I was so happy to finally know all of the story and see how it played out. 

May Contain Wine was a fun addition to the series and I can't wait to see what Vale comes up with next for our Swat Team and their lady love.

Prologue - Somewhere in Chicago… The chains chafed my wrists, making me wish I were still in my cage. Though it lacked privacy, the cage at least had a bed, and in there I wasn’t restrained with my arms above my head. But I was in Domenico’s domain. The small bedroom-like area was created from a previous office. There was a lamp and a mattress with a blanket, but those were the only creature comforts. The rest of the room retained both the look and smell of the rest of the decaying structure. With no way to tell time, I wasn’t sure how long I’d been there. All I knew was that I was tired. Being held against my will caused spikes in my adrenaline, and the subsequent crashes left me drained. The small panic attacks had lessened over the past few weeks, but there was an undercurrent of strife, and I feared what would happen if things got out of control. I stared at the bed, wishing I were on it. All that did was cause the memories of him inside me to come slamming down. The absolute owning of my body by him and him alone. The way he made me come undone. Feelings that I shouldn’t have with his touch, but I did. Feelings I drowned in as he consumed me. I am Domenico’s…for now. And that was the thought that always sent questions spiraling out of control and a spike of fear to run through me. I was a caged bird. One of my favorite things about this collection of stories is that though they are based on fairy tales, they each have their own dark and twisty side which makes them all the more compelling.
