Hannah has been through a lot in her life. She struggles with dealing with the past and trying to find a future for herself. It doesn't help that her brothers all want to protect and coddle her.
Stephen has been through a ringer himself and isn't as open as he should be. His family, too, worries about him. He's backed himself away from them out of fear and guilt.
When the two meet, the attraction is instantaneous but neither is really ready for what a relationship would bring. The secrets that would come out. Little do they know that their lives intersect on other levels.
Worth the Risk was a beautiful story about healing and the power of love and how sometimes the risks we take are worth everything. Hannah was a sweet person, yet she was quiet, and kept to herself, focusing on her job and her family. She didn't want to be different, but she couldn't find a way to push herself forward either. Stephen was withdrawn and angry, hurting and he wasn't sure he was good enough for Hannah, though he wanted her. I love that the story wasn't an instantaneous love match, that both Stephen and Hannah had to work towards making a sincere go at having more.
