Morgan Young had a perfect upbringing, and now she’s got a perfect boyfriend and a perfect future—until her twenty-first birthday changes everything. First Morgan finds out, in the most painful way possible, that her relationship is a sham. But that’s nothing compared to the nightmare about to unfold.

It’s too late for Tucker Noscalo. A brutal childhood left him with a bad reputation and a criminal record. Fresh out of jail, Tucker has a score to settle with Baybrook’s crooked chief of police—his own father. Nobody will believe Tucker’s explosive accusations without proof and a good lawyer, neither of which he has on his side. Until he sees someone he used to know, someone who just so happens to be the daughter of the best lawyer in the county.

He needs Morgan to convince her father of the ugly truth. But first he has to convince her, and he’ll do whatever it takes to get her to listen. Confronted by the story of Tucker’s dark past, Morgan feels utterly compelled to help him. And as their connection grows into a fierce bond fueled by raw passion, Morgan finds herself falling for the wrong guy—but never has the promise of love felt so right.

My Review:

Forgotten Promises is a story of second chances and justice.

Tucker Noscalo hasn't led a happy life. He's trouble with a capital T but there's a deep dark reason for most of it. Fresh out of prison and eager to take on his father seeking Justice for the past wrongdoings, he needs help. An impromptu run in with the girl he knows from school is just what he needs to turn his plans around and seek his revenge. But to do it, he has to act quickly and have little care for what's going to happen.

Morgan thought she had the perfect night planned for her 21st birthay, but instead her heart is broken and her plans are in shambles. Running into Tucker at a convenience store just feels like the twist that could save her night a little bit, but then things take a change of direction and Morgan isn't so sure of Tucker's intentions.

Forgotten Promises delivers us a damaged hero who's looking for justice, for revenge and more importantly looking for a way to just be. Along the way he discovers love and healing, as he gets his story out there and gets retribution.

Morgan and Tucker both had a crush on each other years ago, but both had thoughts of not being right for the other, not deserving. Tucker's suffered through a lot, and in trying to deal with that pain, he did what he could to get away from home, but in doing that, he became guilt ridden for leaving his brother behind and his mother clueless.

I really enjoyed watching Tucker battle himself over what he was doing. He didn't want to hurt anyone, especially not Morgan, but he also couldn't let his father continue to get away with his misdeeds and hurt anyone else in the process. Tucker definitely underwent some deep changes in how he viewed himself and how he appeared to others as he got his tale out. But even upon being safe and finding justice, Tucker still had some internal healing and changing to do before he could fully open up to Morgan.

Morgan knows bad boys, she knows the stories told about Tucker, but she can't find it in her to believe Tucker is out to hurt her really, even though sometimes she lets herself feel worry. Ultimately Morgan wants to help Tucker work through his past, she wants to help him find justice and she wants to show him his true worth.

Forgotten Promises was a sad story, but also heart warming. It was a nice twist to have a man who appears so strong and steady, be hiding such dark secrets and feel so low about his self. This story shows the true nature of real love, unconditional love that has staying power.
