Hoax knows two things very well. One, he’s not relationship material. Two, the nurse that treats him for erectile dysfunction is the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen, and practically has ‘the marrying type’ stamped on her forehead. Does that stop him from wanting her? No. Unfortunately, he learned a long time ago that Army Delta Force and long-lasting relationships don’t go hand in hand. But beautiful hazel eyes, curly blonde hair, and the prettiest lips he’s ever seen play havoc with his resolve, making him forget his earlier convictions. I've been waiting for Hoax's story since I met him, curious to get to know him better and see who wins him over. I was quite satisfied with his and Pru's story.
Hoax made a visit to the ER to deal with an awkward problem - but turns out he didn't need to see the doctor, one look at Nurse Pru and he'd found himself on the way to recovery. He never expected to find so much more in Pru, that is after he wins her over.
Pru has rules for herself when it comes to dating, she doesn't date patients and she doesn't date military men. It just so happens Hoax fits into one of those boxes. But still there's something about him that draws him in.
There's a lot going on in this book which not only will grab your attention and have you hooked waiting to see what comes next as these two figure out what's between them. I really enjoyed watching both Hoax and Pru navigate their relationship. As usual, Vale delivered a romance between many other layers including catching up with favorite characters, getting to know others, and some action and emotional journeys.
I can't wait to see who's story comes next from Bear Bottom Guardians and dive right in to their adventure.
