The Day He Came Back is a tale of second chances and so much more. Our couple are from opposite sides; Gavin's a rich boy who doesn't seem to want for anything until you get to know him and his heart and Raven is the maid's daughter. Though they couldn't appear to be any more different, there's an underlying connection there, a pull, which begins their forbidden tryst. But as usually happens, love, their bond, and that connection isn't enough to get through every obstacle and then sometimes fate steps in and changes direction.

I really enjoyed how this story gave me both the past and the present and how both were connected, though I'm not going to spoil all of those details as it is best to read for yourself. I will say that I was enthralled from the start, anxious for Gavin and Raven and to see where things would end up between them and how they got to these points in their lives.

Ward did an amazing job weaving the pieces of their story together, from the drama of those against them, to the emotions of both Gavin and Raven, to the undeniable pull between them and everything in between. I read this book in one sitting because I couldn't bear to set it down for even a moment.
