One of the things I love about books by this duo, is that I am never disappointed in how they turn out.  I'm guaranteed a story that tugs on my heart strings, makes me laugh, and allows me to be part of another love story. 

My Favorite Souvenir kicks off with two strangers stranded in a blizzard - not an unusual plot point - but this one moves different.   The tale of Maddy and Milo Hooker takes us on quite the adventure or two.  

This story sucked me in from the start and I couldn't wait to see where these two would lead us.  This story was creatively fresh and fun, while also having quite the romantic moments and emotional spins. 

If you need a story to keep your mind off the current real world - this is one to do the trick!

Review

Chicks, Man brings us Levi and Hannah's story and as with every other Hollyfield book I've read, I was hooked from the start.  Hollyfield has an amazing ability to not only grip you in the pages of her books, but to keep you hanging on her words, her characters actions, and the emotions the story invokes.  

One of my favorite tropes has always been the brother's best friend/best friend's brother and this story did not disappoint.  Hannah's crush on Levi has been going on for years, so when she sees a chance - well she takes it - no matter what.  I loved these two together.  They made me laugh, cry, and cheer.  

The side characters, as always, also brought something to the mix, be it banter, humor, or angst.

Falling North is book two in Santos' Turner Artist Rocker series.  One of the things I love about this series is how the author writes the characters and their stories.  I feel as if I'm a part of each and every book, feeling the emotions with the characters along their journey.  I truley felt a part of Xander, Matty, and Lydia's journey and was beholden to them to read to the end, which then left me wanting more.

I really enjoyed getting to know all three of these characters and feeling their bonds and connections throughout.  There was such a depth to the emotions and that pulled me in even more.  I love that this story wasn't at all the typical rockstar book and yet if fits wholly in to the category. 

The way the author used not only the brewing connection between Lydia and Xander but also his issues with his brother to bring the story together was beautiful perfection.  It truly added a next level part of the story.

Xander was definitely what one seeks as a book boyfriend and I found myself lost in the pages from moment one.  With amazing chemistry, heartfelt emotions, and of course some sexual tension, you won't be able to lift your eyes from the page until you reach teh end of this story - and then you'll find yourself craving more.

Master of Salt and Bones is my first Lake book, and I have to say I was quite enamored with the writing and story. 

This story had everything I could want from it, a dark and twisty plot, two characters who've suffered in their pasts finding their perfect half in each other, and of course a dab of suspense. 

Isadora has lived her life, shunned for being born to her mother, not who she is outside of of circumstances of birth.  She wants to get away, but to do that, she needs money, so when an opportunity comes her way to work at teh Blackthorne Manor - well she jumps on it thinking it will get her out of the small town where she's always been judged.  I really liked Isa's character and getting to know her and watch how she changed as the story progressed. 

Lucian Blackthorne is quite the unusual man, he's suffered through the past himself and he's scarred and lonely and so much more and yet, there's something quite intriguing about him and I couldn't wait to discover his hidden depths. 

Lake did an amazing job of drawing me into this story, luring me into the dark corners and plunging me into the dark.  This story is full of secrets, darkness and just the right amount of romance to smooth the way at times. Master of Salt and Bones is just what I needed to take me out of reality and dive into something different.

Keri Lake is a dark romance writer who specializes in demon wrangling, vengeance dealing and wicked twists.
