Maggie and Jake jump right back into the action and try to formulate a plan to get everyone out safely, or as unharmed as possible. They are armed with information and know what the kidnapper was really after, so they hope to be able to diffuse things and calm him down.
Ending this stand off and rescuing the hostages mean more to Maggie than a job well done, it will mean defending her actions in the case, proving herself to those who've questioned her and even a little bit to herself. She knows she can do this and make it work for everyone, but its going to take finesse.
End Game is heart stopping, so much is going on and so much is at risk. It is a blood roaring in your ears, edge of your seat, what's going to happen story. I love how Tess Diamond delivers this story one blow after another, but also weaves a few hopeful moments into it and shows the strength and determination of all those involved, most especially Maggie and Jake.
The conclusion of this book couldn't have been written any better in my opinion.
