Synopsis:

He knows how to score, on and off the ice

Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she's going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di-Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.

It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over

Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.

My Review:

I've loved every book in this series.  The characters, the story, the romance, the laughter. Each book has brought it all in spades.   But this book, The Score, Dean Di-Laurentis........yeah there's something super special about Dean and that's why I think his book is my absolute favorite of the series.

Dean and Allie could not be more different.  They aren't even friends, can't even hardly stand one another but find themselves having a spontaneous one night fling which knocks them both off their axis.   For Allie, she wants to forget and move on, but Dean, he just can't it go so easily.

Watching as former manwhore Dean tries everything he can to get Allie to agree to 'more' is hilarious.  It's a totally daunting task for Dean who's never had to beg and plead for a girl in his life, but he doesn't want anyone else, only Allie will do.  The conversations between Dean and his roommates are comical and I love all the little things that Dean gets stuck handling (sorry no spoilers here).

In the end, Dean and Allie form a unique friendship and bond, while also sexing it up as often as possible, but in trying to keep it secret and uncomplicated, they find their feelings have further developed.  I loved when these two finally realized they were more than friends with benefits, more than a secret tryst.  They connect on many levels and they sort of even the other out, Dean lets Allie let out her wild side, and Allie sort of calms Dean.  They fit together perfectly.

The Score is full of steamy moments, lots of hotness between Allie and Dean, and of course the humor we have come to expect from the boys of the Off-Campus series.  But there were also a few surprises tucked in here and there and The Score was a compelling read leaving me anticipating the next book in the series.

Elle Kennedy has another winner in the Score with the story of the reformed manwhore who found his match in the one person no one would have suspected.  Dean and Allie's story is amazing and beautiful and shows that sometimes our perfect match isn't the type of person we would have guessed. Sometimes our perfect match is our opposite.
