Rescuing Emily (Delta Force Heroes Book 2) by Susan Stoker
Date of Publication: July 19, 2016
Blurb
Renting out the apartment over his garage shouldn't be a life-changing decision, but when Delta soldier Cormac "Fletch" Fletcher meets Emily Grant, he feels an instant connection. He can't stand the thought of Emily and her young daughter living anywhere unsafe. Offering cheap rent is a small price to pay for their safety…and Fletch's peace of mind.
Being a single mother is difficult at best, but renting the extremely affordable space from Fletch makes Emily's life a lot easier…until it doesn't. Suddenly all the money she's saving thanks to Fletch's generosity is going into the hands of a blackmailer. And what little food Emily can afford goes to her daughter Annie, so the girl doesn't go to bed hungry…leaving Emily weaker and weaker.
When miscommunication has Emily assuming Fletch is in on the blackmail, he not only has to gain her trust, but also deal with a man holding a grudge against Fletch and his entire Delta Force team. A task made more difficult when the dangerous man gets his hands on Emily and Annie...
** Rescuing Emily is the 2nd book in the Delta Force Heroes Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

REVIEW:
Rescuing Emily is book two in this series by Susan Stoker and it was just as great as the first book. Rescuing Emily gives us the story of Fletch and Emily, who we were vaguely introduced to in the first book.
Emily is a single mom who's in a bad situation, but she's a strong woman who doesn't really want to ask for help. But Emily is also the type of mom who would do anything for her child, go without anything, give up anything, whatever it took to make sure her daughter was happy, healthy and had all she needed. She took the aparment from Fletch thinking that it was an answer to prayers, only to find herself regretting it when she's misled.
Fletch is a strong alpha male, he's in Delta Force afterall. He knows something more is going on with his tenant but he doesn't know what it is. He's naturally protective and Emily and her daughter both really draw those instincts out of him. When Emily gets sick and Fletch discovers what has been going on, he knows he has to do whatever he can for these two.
I enjoyed the story watching as these two figured things out, watching as Annie won over Fletch as well and stole my heart along with it. I love the family that each member of the Delta Force has found with each other, and how it shows in each book. It really added to the story and made the anticipation for future books more.
Susan Stoker has a way of grabbing the readers attention and pulling them right into her written world.
