Always was a anxiety inducing, heart pouding, wild ride of first love.
Catherine and Cross live similar lives, and yet in a lot of ways couldn't be more different. But once they meet, all bets are off. Their relationship isn't what one would think of as whirlwind and yet it sort of was. From heartache to heartswells, pain and loss to love and hope - these two take readers through the ringer as we journey with them, but there was no putting their story down for me.
Cross comes off as a mouthy teenage boy who does what he wants because he knows he'll get away with it and feels as if its due. But there's more to Cross, a deeper good guy in ways. He doesn't always show respect as he should - but one thing is for sure - he gives it to Catherine. He knows she's worthy of respect and good behavior.
Catherine isn't sure what her relationship with Cross is at first - she just knows she enjoys the time they spend together. But she's young and experiencing things for the first time so she's not always clear on her feelings or reacting well to their relationship. This brings a bit of struggle to them - but one thing that remains is their love for each other.
Coming from two Mafia type families, Cross and Catherine have more obstacles to face than normal teens finding love for the first time, but that only adds to their drama. Their journey isn't easy or fancy free as one would expect, but rather full of twists and turns that take them down paths that lead to hurt. Can they find a way to make it work?
