Ruthless King kicks off the Mount Trilogy and it dives us right into the story. Full of amazing chemistry, boundless mystery, and just the right amount of Steam, I was pulled right in from page one and left with anticipation for more when I read the last word.
Keira is a character that strikes me as someone I'd be friends with, she's smart, sassy, loyal and so much more, but at the moment she's working her self to the bone, trying to get her distillery back on track. She's dealing with mistakes from the past and trying to get her life back together, just when she thinks she's finally on a good path, in steps Lachlan Mount and things are about to get a little crazy.
Lachlan is an intriguing character as well - one that struck me from the first as a man hard to define - hard to figure out. He's strong and powerful, he's smart and manipulative and so much more. He's the personal bogeyman of New Orleans and he's set his sights on Keira - and he'll have her no matter what.
I can't wait to see what these two deliver in the future books of the series with their powerful connection.
