DragonLost is a novella in the Dark Kings series. Annita and Royden are the focus of this story and though they move fast in their relationship - it doesn't feel rushed or forced, but rather as if they've answered destiny's call.

One of my favorite things about this series, is that I'm always sucked into the world of the dragons and fall in love with the characters and everything about them. Poor Royden's been through alot in his life, which has left him a little wary. I loved the way these two met and became a part of each others lives.

This story is a sweet novella that will show you the world of teh Dark Kings while delivering a love story that will have you smiling.

Can I ask you something else? Shoot. Did the crowd swarming the hotel and bus bother you? Is he kidding me? Of course, it bothered me. Review: Just One Year by Penelope Ward

The beginning of my sophomore year in college was off to a rough start.
On the first day of orientation, I had an altercation with an infuriating British dude in a campus bathroom.

I got home later that night and realized that the foreign student we were expecting to rent a room in my parents’ house was allergic to our cat.
So, the spare room went to someone else: Caleb—the British guy from the men’s room.
And so it began…my love-hate story with Caleb Yates. Or was it hate-love in that order?

The guy knew how to push every one of my buttons.
Sometimes I’d email him to express my aggravation and disdain.
He’d actually rewrite my own words and send them back to me.
That was the type of infuriating person Caleb was.
So frustrating.
And…
Sometimes incredibly funny and endearingly sweet.
And hot.

He eventually grew on me, and Caleb soon became one of my best friends that year.
Too bad he was headed back to England soon, so nothing could happen between us—for so many reasons.
I definitely couldn't fall in love with him, especially since all we had was just one year.

Review

Another story that sucked me in from the start with characters I could relate to and understand and a plot that moved at a steady pace and kept me involved.

Just One Year brings us the story of a foreign exchange student and the daughter of his host family. They developed quite the friendship from the start - but it was fun to watch as it all unfolded and came together. Their first meeting was quite unique and set them up for growing closer each day that followed. I really enjoyed getting to know Caleb and Teagan as they got to know each other and grew closer.

The build up between these two was fabulous, there wasn't an instant connection in the romantic sense but more that these two almost immediately saw a like-image in each other. Both had issues from the past that were affecting their present, even if they didn't consciously realize it. Both were hidnig parts of themselves from the rest of the world.

I also really enjoyed the side characters in this story, Teagan's because they really added a lot to the book that would have otherwise been missed.

Just One Year made me laugh out loud at moments, made me sympathize, and kept me hooked just waiting for what would come for these two characters. I loved how the author showed us the outlooks on these two people and how they changed simply because they met each other and were not at all expecting what that meeting would lead too.
