That Time with Sugar was not at all what I expected, but it was an interesting read none the less. It started off a little slow, telling us more about the trio and their time in Green Willow Recovery Center. It was a good start though because we got to see into them a little bit. Sugar had a bad homelife and it affected her different from Tommy and Julian's childhoods. But still, they became super close while in the center.
When things take a turn for the suspenseful, the story picks up a lot. Having read the synopsis I knew they ran away from Green Willow, but of course had no idea why or what led to their escape. I found that particular twist held me captive and had me full of questions.
The bonds between Sugar, Tommy, and Julian were written so very well, it was easy to see from the start of the story that they had formed thier own misfit family amongst each other. I think that added to the overall story by making things flow well after their escape from the center.
I enjoyed putting the pieces together with this trio and figuring it all out myself.
