Tessa isn't happy with her job, her boss has upset her again and she finds herself taking his place yet again, but in doing so she meets Max, the one prisoner she's imagined herself with as she learned every inch of his case. She knows she will do her best to help him out, but upon getting to the prison, Tessa finds herself with a man she doesn't know, even if she has wanted to, in place of the misunderstood man she thought she'd find, she finds a hard man who wants no help from her.
Max thought his life was over, he'd lost everything and everyone and he would be content to rot in prison. He knows a prison break is coming, but he can't find it in himself to care or participate, that is until he meets his new attorney, then he makes a different decision, one that involves saving her and getting out.
I love that this story dives right into the action of the prison break, I felt like we get to know quite a bit about both Tessa and Max in teh first few chapters. There's an instant level of symbiotic behavior but with a healthy dose of mistrust. As things heat up, both between them and in general, the story shows us more about them. Unlawful Seizure is one Wild and Steamy ride. Tess and Max give us a real adventure as they realize they might need each other more than they thought and Max sees that maybe just maybe there is a way to move on from the Past.
This story pulls our plenty of emotions, while also keeping you on your toes. Equal parts of yelling at the screen and wanting to do a happy dance. The characters are written flawlessly, you can almost see into their souls, down to their very core. It's a beautiful thing when you can see just how deeply connected two people can be.
