Review
Waiting for Us takes you on a long and winding journey. Flipping from past to present to give readers the full picture, we get to see the history and back story of both Marcus and Cory's history with Hailey and how she finds herself torn between the two of them.
The story takes us from Hailey's first meeting with Cory as a young teen through their current connection as she interns in the same place he works. There is a lot of history there full of happy times, good moments, scary memories, and ultimately a feeling of pain and betrayal.
Marcus and Hailey have been best friends forever, as they've grown and changed, so has their friendship, though they've never had an official relationship status, they do truly and deeply love each other.
Waiting for Us is ultimately a story involving unrequited love, mistakes and second chances, and knowing when and how to forgive. At times in the book, I was annoyed with the characters and their choices, but I felt that ultimately it showed a lot about the way they worked. There was a LOT going on in teh story for Hailey both in the past and present and it was sort of interesting trying to keep up and guess what would ultimately happen.
Will Hailey open herself up to future hurts from Cory or will she stay with Marcus knowing he's a safe choice? You'll have to read to find out.
I'm giving this book 3.5 stars for bringing to life a love triangle and showing how it evolved.

I open the bathroom door and hold it for Shelby. We are walking past the men's room at the same time Cory is exiting it. We barely miss bumping into each other and share a laugh over our close call.
"Hey, can I grab you for a sec?" He asks me.
"Sure, Shelby I'll meet you on the dance floor in a few." Shelby nods and smirks as she walks away. She knows about my "Cory crush" and how hot I think he is.
So what's up Cory?" I ask, wondering what he could want to talk to me about
"Come here," he says, wrapping his warm hand around mine. He walks us back toward where we just came from, before continuing down the hall and around a sharp corner. He fluidly turns me to face him and tucks me back into the alcove on the right side of the hallway. The small space is deep enough to offer some privacy as he maneuvers his body close to mine. My breath stutters from the contact and I suddenly feel nervous. I'm not sure what to do with my hands so I place my palms on the cool wall behind me, bracing myself against it. He runs the top of his index finger slowly down my cheek and back up again.
It seems like such a cliché' for you to be turning sweet sixteen and you've never been kissed. I thought I could help you out with that." He says with a sly smile on his handsome face. Before I can reply that I have already been kissed, he is softly pressing his mouth to mine. His lips are warm and sure. It feels different than kissing Marcus. Maybe it's the fact that he's eight years older than me and he has a lot of experience, whatever the reason, I feel as though I'm kissing a man. The kiss is over almost before it's begun, yet I can't help but feel as though my destiny has been irrevocably changed as a result. One small kiss from Cory Marshall and my life would never be the same
