I've been a fan of Bella Jewel's MC books for a long time, so I was super excited to see the MC Sinners Next Generation series born!
Drifter is book two and gives us the story of Mercedes and Diesel. Two young people who grew up within different MC's and are trying to find their way out, but instead find each other.
Mercedes is happy to be at college, she's glad to be away from home and looking forward to figuring out who she is and what she wants to do with her life. She meets Diesel and all of a sudden, she wants something else, to get to know him. She's keeping secrets though in a bid to to be herself.
Diesel is struggling himself, wanting something more than what is expected of him, he's torn between the life he wants, and what he should have. He's fairly content with the status quo until Mercedes latches on and won't let him go. It's then he starts thinking maybe he's been thinking wrong about what he deserves and what he wants and needs.
Drifter pulls us back into both the world of the Hell's Knights and Joker's Wrath. There's no limit to the drama involved when you've got MC's, but this book brings us even more. Nothing is more important to these clubs as their family, their children. I loved the forbidden love aspect of this book, it really added that extra layer of drama, but it also showed the depth of feelings between Mercedes and Diesel, the fact that they could go up against their families, their clubs, trying to put each other first.
I look forward to reading more tales of love between these characters, watching as the men we knew and loved in previous books are stuck with the realities of their babie's growing up and finding love.
