Review

The Southern Nights Series is a group of Novellas revolving around one couple and their journey together. From the first book where we are introduced to Laney and Kamdyn, I was intrigued. Laney, the girl from the Big City turned country girl in the midst of football country and Kamdyn the much touted King of Football and major player were an odd match and yet their chemistry was strong and their connection proved they could work - if only life and other people in it didn't get in the way.

One of my favorite parts of this story was that it wasn't all good times and smooth sailing. There were struggles, there was a push and a pull, there were questions of trust and more there was a deep respect on Kamdyn's part to do whatever it took to prove to Laney that she wasn't wrong to give hima chance. From a slight animosity, to a blooming friendship to something much deeper - these two grew together with every flip of the page - and in watching that it was clear to see the love behind them.

I absolutely enjoyed the way the characters pulled me into their world, engaging me in the realm of first loves and all the layers that go with it. In addition to that, their journey wasn't cut and dry - they had to work towards it, work together through emotions and so much more. Laney was different for Kamdyn than any of the girls of his past - she was his support, she was his friend, she held him to high standards, but most importantly she loved him for who he was when he was with her - regardless of what else he was. Kamdyn knew from the start that Laney was different, she was a girl worth fighting for - a girl meant to be loved and adored- and he knew he wanted to do nothing mroe than show her he could be that guy.

This was my first book by M. Never and I'll definitely be reading more in the future. From fun, feisty characters to interesting plot-lines, steamy moments, a splash of humor and emotions aflutter - I know she'll deliver a compelling read.

M. Never resides in New York City. When she's not researching ways to tie up her characters in compromising positions, you can usually find her at the gym kicking the crap out of a punching bag, or eating at some trendy new restaurant. She has a dependence on sushi, a fetish for boots, and is stalked by a clingy pit bull named Apache.
