REVIEW
One of the best things about Bethany-Kris' books is that they always always have strong female characters. Women who are fierce and can hold there own, and yet still have that vulnerable edge that makes them open to love. Cozen is no different, though this book does have a little bit of a different angle to it than previous books I've read by this author, I was enamored by the characters from the start.
Cozen is a renowned thief to put it one way, a master at her craft and willing to do anything to get the job done in the time frame agreed upon. Taking on one more heist, Cozen doesn't expect any complications, but she also didn't expect Sargon or the way she's drawn to him.
Cozen brings to us a new world of powerful and dangerous people, a world unlike those usually found in this author's works, and yet it was just as striking. I was hooked from the start, curious to see where things would lead and how it would all play out. This story delivers twists and surprises as expected, danger and suspense, and characters that have the ability to tug on your heart strings while also making you question their behaviors sometimes. There's just enough action to keep you on edge and bring the story together.
Bethany-Kris has done a superb job of introducing this new world within the pages of this book and I'm looking forward to what she delivers next.
