Blog Tour: It Happens by Lani Lynn Vale

;

Zee + Annmarie and Tan + Jubilee. Forever. No exceptions. They were to have the picture-perfect life together. Everything was all planned out. Jubilee was to marry Eitan and Ezekiel was to marry Annmarie. That’s how it was always supposed to be from the moment that they met. Textbook, right? Wrong. Eitan and Annmarie die in a freak accident that never should have happened, leaving the two survivors reeling. Sixteen years later, Jubilee and Zee can’t even be in the same room with each other before things begin to deteriorate. Too many memories. Too much pain. Not enough forgiveness. They’re like hellfire and holy water, and neither one of them is willing to admit that they’re wrong. Then one day things change, and all of a sudden, they’re looking at each other like maybe they aren’t each other’s enemies after all.

REVIEW

It Happens was an amazing story of enemies to lovers - even though when you really look through it they were not really enemies.  Jubilee and Zee have been through a lot together, they've been a part of each others lives, the good, the bad, and the devastating since almost the start and as such they have quite the history between them.

It Happens weaves us through their past and into the present where there is an ever present something between them, between bouts of snips and banter, there's so much more between these two and when it comes to a head they discover just how much more there is between them even if they aren't sure what to do with it at first.

I really loved exploring their lives together from start to finish, understanding the seeming hate between them, their desires to hurt and lash out at each other and even more the deep connection that draws them together.  Jubilee was quite the woman, she'd been through a lot, she suffered more than anyone truly guessed and I felt like that drew me to her as a favorite character because something in her resonated in me.  Zee also had been through a lot and as he worked through his feelings, one thing stood out stronger than the rest - his innate desire to protect Jubilee.

As with all Vale stories, there's so much more than meets the eye going on, and I enjoyed watching as Jubilee and Zee worked their way around all the ups and downs and the road blocks thrown their way.
