Review
Bound to Morocco is my first book from Leslie Hachtel and it just so happens to be book one in the Morocco series.  First I want to say that Historical romance isn't my favorite genre and I don't read a lot of it - But the blurb for this book hooked me and made me have to read the story and I'm so glad I did.

Bound to Morocco is about a young woman sold by her family and the man who took her captive for all the right and wrong reasons and their journey together.

Shera awakens in an unknown place with a feeling that everything is all wrong and trying to figure out what happened and how and where she ended up.  Her memories halt after taking a drink and she realizes she was probably drugged - but are her memories correct? Could it be her own family who have facilitated this? I felt so sorry for Shera as she discovered the truth and fought to find a way out of the situation.

John is a man put in an untenable situation - to help one he loves, he has to do abhorrent things, things he hates and yet they'll be worth the strikes on his soul if they work.   I really enjoyed watching the feelings John battled in himself over what he'd done and his plans but also the reasons for his actions.

Hachtel really wove the destinies of these two characters together beautifully - everything just blended from the start and it was clear there would be much complications as the story progressed.  As their feelings grew and changed, so did these two characters, but there was much surrounding them and I knew it wouldn't be smooth sailing (no pun intended) for them.

I found myself digging deep, through their mixed feelings, through the struggles of right and wrong, and bad things done with good intentions and couldn't help but be drawn to the rest of the story, a desperate need to see how things played out and if forgiveness could be found for everyone. As I read the last pages, I found myself looking forward to more books in this series and from this author.

*I was provided a copy of this book from the author - but all enjoyment and thoughts are my very own. *
