REVIEW
Tinsel is the latest book in the Lark Cove Series, but it might be one of my favorites now. As with all of the stories in this series, our characters find themselves in Lark Cove and it changes everything.
For Sofia Kendrick, she's come to hide out and lick her wounds after a devastating interview where in she learns what most of the world thinks of her - and it isn't flattering or easy to swallow. But what others don't see is how lost Sofia is herself, how she hasn't found her purpose, her desire for life or her future nor how she's different from the rest of her family. When her sister-in-law decides to help her out in an unusual way at first Sofia isn't sure how to take it, but one night working the bar with Dakota begins a change in her and also something so much more.
Dakota isn't quite sure what to make of his bosses request that he train and work with Sofia, he knows her type, he knows she won't be able to hack working at the bar, but then he really gets to know her and finds that his initial impressions might just be wrong and there might be a true depth to Sofia - one even she doesn't recognize.
As these two discover more about each other and act on their attraction and chemistry they fall into quite the fling - neither expecting to want it to last longer than a few weeks until they do. But Sofia has a strong desire to find her happy - to discover where she belongs and what she should be doing with her life as well and that could bring complications to a relationship.
Tinsel sucked me in from the first page, I've wanted to know more about Sofia since we met her in book one, and I loved every minute of discovering who she truly is and why she behaved the way she did. There is a true depth of change within in from the start of the book to the end and it was beautiful to see her grow and learn and fall in love. I also really enjoyed watching as Dakota figured out things, he worked through his own issues and saw what he truly wanted out of life, even if it took a little while.
