REVIEW
Wrong to Need You sucked me in from page one and delivered a powerful tale that was more than just a love story.
Jackson left town years ago, after being accused of a crime he didn't commit, now he's back and finds himself surrounded by the reasons he left in the first place -those who still blame him and those he left behind. But he also finds something else hasn't changed - his willingness to do anything for his best friend, the girl he's loved forever, his brother's widow - Sadia.
Sadia is struggling to get her life together after the death of her husband - between the bills he left behind that she didn't know about and trying to wrangle childcare for their son while keeping their business afloat - she's burning both ends of the candle. But when her brother in law - her former best friend steps in to help - she's torn between staying mad at him and accepting the offered help.
One of my favorite parts of this story was the fact that I found a connection with both of the characters - with Sadia's desire to be a good mom, to take care of things in her life as best she could without spilling all her secrets and her care for Jackson even when she didn't want to admit it. She was very down to earth and felt like someone I'd want to be friends with in the real world. Jackson's feelings also struck chords with me and had me in his corner from the start.
I enjoyed watching as secrets and hidden truths came out throughout this story - they added an extra layer to the characters and their story and pulled me in further, leaving me rooting for these two to find happiness together. The story moved at a steady pace which felt right and real for these characters and their love story. I also enjoyed the small town aspects of the story - they added a little extra drama but also showed credit to the past.
