I've been anxiously awaiting Dante's book since the series started, such a tortured hurting character who still had so much to give even if he felt he didn't. Hail Mary did not let me down one little bit. It delivered a powerful, highly emotional read and amazing story of second love.
Dante is a man who's been through a living hell, losing his family and a bit of his trust in those that remain, he chooses to be alone, away from everyone, breathing, but not really living. Until he's saved by a second chance in the form of a daughter he didn't expect. When her mother leaves him with her -she's got two expectations of him: Protect her best friend, and their daughter.
Cobie's lived her own personal hell and struggled herself with the will to live, suffering through a lot, she's almost ready to give up until a stranger gives her a push to try.
There's a lot standing in the path of these two, the past, the present, and an unknown amount of danger. But the chemistry between them is so strong, it withstands even as they fight it, even as they argue, even as they are apart.
