Blurb
Cocky, man whore, player…. Those are all ways I have been
described by the media and countless women. Are they accurate? Possibly. But,
that’s all I let the media see of me, Brian Kelly, defensive player for the
Indianapolis Eagles Hockey team. I have no intentions of settling down and
changing the media's perception of me. I can’t tell if women are after me for
my bank account, the status symbol of being with a professional athlete, or if
they really want me for me. Then I meet her. The one woman who doesn’t let my
charm affect her or cause her to jump directly into my bed. Can I possibly
change my ways and settle down?
Grounded, selfless, giving…Those are all the ways my family
and friends have described me. Are they right? Possibly. But, I’m so much more,
and need some passion and excitement in my life. My best friend is moving on
and I want that someone special to share all that life has to offer. Let it be
known that I, Kinley Williams, want the right someone special. So why did he
have to crash into me? The one man who is so clearly wrong for me. Then again,
he doesn’t seem like anything the tabloids claim him to be. So is he really all
that wrong?

Review
Scoring the Player is the second book in this series by Samantha Lind. I did not read book one prior to reading this one, and while I will say this book stands alone - I know I'll enjoy the previous so I'll be picking it up sometime soon.
Scoring the Player has one of the most played sports romance themes -- The Playboy who's finally decided to settle down and the woman he chooses to be the one -- but there's more at play with these characters too. There's some overlap between the two books as the heroines are best friends and the heroes are friends and play for the same team.
Brian's well known for his playboy ways in the media - but there might be just a hint of untruth to those claims - Brian likes that the media plays him up that way, it helps him steer clear of anyone who'd be with him for dishonest reasons - like his money or career. But Brian's finding himself ready for something steady - for a real relationship - one that can last.
Kinley isn't so sure what to think about Brian - she's heard all about his bad boy ways in the media - but in person he seems so different. She's a real down to earth and relatable character to me.
Can these two find something real together? Have they met their match in one another and can they make it work?
Scoring the Player will make you laugh, swoon, and maybe even drop a few tears. It will suck you in to the story, and make you feel with and for the characters.
