About MAYBE DON'T WANNA
Peter Parker Penn. Unlike the superhero his mother named him after, Parker is no good guy. In fact, if there's a picture in the dictionary under anti-hero, it's his. Parker's spent his life trying to get back on the right side of the tracks, but each step he takes forward, he takes two more steps back. To save one, he hurts others. To make this good, he turns that bad. For appearances' sake, he plays the part. He does what people expect him to do-mostly. And at the end of each day, he goes back to his lonely apartment and wishes he was a different person. One who could fix the things he's broken. Then Kayla Nash forces her way into his life, and the world as he knows it is irrevocably changed. Everything he thinks he has right is wrong. And everything he thinks is wrong is oh, so right. One thing leads to another, and suddenly he's growing a conscience, and trying to prove to her that he's as bad as everybody says he is. Yet she won't listen. She's convinced that she can save him. Little does she know, Parker isn't worth saving, and never will be.Buy Now

REVIEW
Maybe Don't Wanna is book two in the Simple Man series and it brings us Kayla and Parker's story which took us on quite a ride.
I love Kayla - she's been a fun character to get to know and watch as she grew and changed. She's suffered her losses and though she's had 'family' step in - she's still in ways alone. I really loved the evolution of her relationship with Parker - as this crush to this No way is that going to work - to OMG it's real love. Ha! They develop an interesting friendship which turns into so much more before either of them realize it.
Parker has had it rough - he's gone through a lot in his life, some based on his own bad decisions and luck, and others just random traumatic events. But he's trying hard to be the good guy now - to do what he can still to rid the world of evils. At his core, he'll never forgive himself for his past and what he believes he caused.
As usual, there's a touch of suspense and mystery and danger in the air among the pages here which drew me into the story further. There was also the developing drama surrounding Parker and Kayla being together and what those around them would think.
