A.S. Teague is great at delivering powerful emotions through her written words. When you Became Mine is no different. This story is one that delivers us pain and unrequited love and secrets and growing up and so much more. Piper and Lawson have known each other literally forever, they have quite a history, and not always a fun or happy one, but they also have a connection - whether they feel it all the time or not. Lawson has been in love with Piper for years, but she was too hung up on her own 'love' for his brother to notice so Lawson left home. But now that he's back, he can't turn off that love, even if he wished to, and Piper is about to see changes in their relationship.
Delivered with an intriguing backstory, the connection between these two isn't always clear to see, but with each turn of the page, the feelings show through. With and added touch of mystery, A.S. Teague delivers a story that isn't all you'd expect. Sometimes I found myself wanting to knock some sense into Piper, but I also understood she'd been through a lot and gave her some clearance for that. Lawson totally won me over with his quiet but sincere ways from the start and it was clear he loved hard once he loved.

A.S. Teague enjoys the warmth of South Carolina with her husband and two daughters. The stereotypes about peach cobbler and sweet tea are not overstated. After years in the medical field, she is now enjoying every minute of being a stay-at-home mom. She loves wine, the beach, wine on the beach, and crying at Disney movies. When she doesn’t have a book in her hand, she can be found pestering her husband with pictures of animals she wants to rescue, as well as debating whether to exercise or take a nap.
