“Welcome to Hell.”
Persephone Fields is just an average girl: beloved daughter and loyal friend. One night decides her Fate, when the prince of The Underworld becomes her savior and her kidnapper.
Hades has lived centuries in darkness and sin. When he decides to save the blonde goddess, he doesn’t consider the ramifications of his decision to bring her into his realm.
Two worlds divided struggle to find friendship in a history of family discord beyond their control. When attraction blurs the line, questions result in choices of love or loyalty.
A modern twist of the classic myth: Hades and Persephone, this version incorporates the sensual tension of opposites divided by contemporary humanity and mythical underworlds. Also reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet, this is a love story ripe with desire.

Review
Hades is the first book by Elda Lore, the alter ego of LB Dunbar and it was everything I expected of her writing and then some. I've enjoyed previous retellings in her other works, but was super excited to see what she would come up with delving into the fantasy realm.
This book is a different take on the mythology of Hades and Persephone that takes place in a more modernized way. Only one small difference, this book is the story of Hades and Persephone's son, Hades who has his own Persephone. I enjoyed how the characters and the story held truth to the mythology but gave their own spin on things bringing it into the 21st century and captivating me.
The story started out a little slow, but that was mostly world building I felt and when things started picking up, the story moved steadily. I loved the build up of emotions both on my part as the reader and the characters parts as well. I felt as if the everything happened for a reason, even if I didn't agree with it, I understood it and remained captive to the story.
Hades was a wonderful blend of fantasy and reality, beautiful imagery that drew me right into the story, and a story line of forbidden love. Hades was forced to make a tough decision, and my heart broke for him even as I couldn't imagine making the choice, I could understand both sides of the matter.
I enjoyed the feelings evoked while reading this book and enjoyed the fantasy elements, how it all wove together into an amazing tale that was so much more than I expected when I started reading.
