When her mother’s incessant matchmaking hits an all-time high, Georgie Archibald does what any sensible woman would do: she flees the country.
Seeking refuge in the picturesque seaside village of Vernazza, Italy, Georgie’s only plan is to lie low, gorge herself on gelato, and let the wine and waves wash her troubles away...that is until she wakes up in a bed that belongs to the most romantic-looking man she’s ever seen.
Gianluca.
After going out of his way to rescue her, the former London financier turned mysterious recluse makes it clear that despite acting as her white knight, he has no plans to co-star in her fairytale.
But Georgie isn’t asking for his heart—she’s merely intrigued.
After all, Gianluca isn’t just gorgeous—tall and tan from days spent in the sun—his touch sets her world on fire. With him, Georgie experiences the most intoxicating passion she’s ever known, and it only takes a few steamy nights for her to realize that sometimes running away from trouble is the best way to find it.

Review:

A Place in the Sun delivers just what you would expect from an R.S. Grey book, a large dose of comedy with a side of romance and a bit of everything in between.

Georgie has had enough of her mother's matchmaking, but its not that she isn't looking for love herself, so she takes a chance and spins the globe before picking a place to land for the summer to give herself a chance to find her perfect match.   Landing in Vernazza, Italy, she doesn't get off to the best start with Gianluca, but she feels a pull towards him.

Gianluca is gorgeous and nice, he comes off as a really good guy, though he sort of keeps to himself and hides his inner pain.  From the start its easy to see he's hiding something and not looking forward to moving on. Despite that he finds himself pulled into Georgie's orbit often.

I enjoyed the build up of this story, watching as all the pieces fall into place and we are delivered a beautiful story for Georgie and Gianluca.  The author did a masterful job of pulling me into the story, making me feel as if I was right on an Italian street smelling the harbor and feeling the breeze.   I loved that Georgie wasn't afraid of much, how she chose an adventure in Italy at random, and sort of rolled with the punches.

I loved how she wasn't at all what Gianluca expected and she seemed to surprise or baffle him at every turn.  They had amazing chemistry and the tension flowed between them leaving me waiting for more.  I was not disappointed in their journey at all.

A Place in the Sun is full of emotional moments, tons of humor, a love story, but more than that it was also filled with a dose of reality, finding the ability to move on from the past, getting over a relationship and finding the right person to start over with.  Taking chances in life to discover your own happiness.

The characters made me fall in love with them right from the start and drew me into their story, into their past and left me rooting for their futures. They also pulled me right into Italy and left me wishing I was traveling there right now.

I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things... everyday.

I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors are Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I'm a comedy geek and love all things "funny". Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
