REVIEW
Becoming Mrs. Lockwood takes a pretty well known trope and adds a few extra unique twists that make the story something fresh and fun and hooked me from the start.
Because this story has lots of surprises in store for its readers, I'm going to try my best to keep this spoiler free. You guys - go in blind, and fall in love as you read each word and discover the many surprises in store that will make this read unexpectedly more than what you thought it would be.
Weston is a hot guy, he's rich, he's fabulous, he's got an amazing life and great friends, but he's not really been lucky in love. So when he has a chance to hold on to it with his mystery bride, he wants to give it a shot. He doesn't have any idea of everything that is in store for the both of them, but he's willing to put a lot on the line to risk his heart.
Wren is a sweet young woman, she's polite and friendly, smart and feisty. So when she finds herself married to a stranger and she's told by her mother to give it a chance, to try to work it out because there must be a reason they were brought together, Wren's not sure if she's crazy or not, but she finds herself heading off to her new life as Mrs. Lockwood.
Wren (and us as readers) is in store for a lot of twists and surprises. Finding out about the man she met and wed within days brings something new all the time. On top of discovering who Weston is, she's also discovering alot about herself in the role of wife. Weston in turn is learning things about his wife too, and opening her up to his friends and his world.
Becoming Mrs. Lockwood was riveting, I kept waiting for problems or drama to pop up, I couldn't wait to see how these two would handle it and how it would change their relationship. There was such a distinct bond between them, even from the start, that connection could be seen, like the world was giving them a tiny push. This story shows the truth that marriage isn't always easy, but that it requires work from both parties, communication and not everything is happy fun. This story also gave life to theory of Love at First Sight.
I really enjoyed the way this story was written, as it not only pulled me in, but also had that magical quality to it, that "oh this could never happen, but wait, what if it did" feeling. Not everything in the story is logical, but it all fits together and adds something to the book. Each and every character plays their part, pulling me further into the story, making me see their feelings about Wren and Weston, showing me their connection in a different light. I loved being surprised by things within the book, I loved that even though I went into it with an idea of what was coming, that I couldn't have known how it all would play out or how things would work between these two beautiful characters.
