Release Blitz & Review: Wild Aces by Marni Mann

Wild Aces Synopsis
Trapper Montgomery
His darkness drew me in.
A mystery with a past I wanted to solve.
He was cold, like ice, but set me on fire.
A heat I hadn't felt in ages.
But when I saw his face, I burned...
In mourning
Again.

Brea Bradley
She melted from my voice--shuddered from my touch.
But trembled from the memories
That my face brought back.
She wanted more...
Maybe even him.
I wasn't the hand she counted on.

But I was what she was dealt...

A Wild Ace with no way to win.

MY REVIEW:

Wild Aces blew me away!  I don't know that I really had any expectations going in based off the synopsis, but I felt like this book was not at all what I expected but it was amazing.

Trapper pulled me in from moment one, wrapped up in mystery and exuding sexiness, I couldn't wait to try to figure him out for myself.  He was an enigma, secretive, highly proffesional when he needed to be, but also cold be down right DIRTY.  Trapper is a professional poker player, meaning not only can the man handle high stakes, he's also good about reading others, their body language, their facial expressions, everything needed to know just how to play the game.  He uses those skills on more than opponents though, making him quite dangerous.

Brea was a really sweet woman but not one who comes across as naive, but rather someone who is soft and honest. Her friendship with Frankie is perfect and adds an extra level of real to the story, they feel like the best of friends and people you'd want to join at a party or even just to have dinner with.   Brea is trying to move past the love she lost years ago, moving on is a little hard for her though, even when she knows what she had with him wasn't perfect.   I love that Brea can hold her own, that she's got brains and sass.

Wild Aces is full of action, full of steam, with a swoon here and there and a laugh or two tossed in to even it all up.  Marni Mann has given readers another Alpha Male to love and adore and a heroine you want to become best friends with.  The chemistry between these two is smoking, their interactions full of tension and radiating heat.

In the Poker game of books, Wild Aces scores a Winning Hand.   I can't wait to see what Marni Mann comes up with next.
