Second chances are sweeter than ever in Charlotte Stein’s steamy Dark Obsession series—perfect for fans of Katy Evans—as a self-reliant college girl falls for a reformed bully who’s desperate to make up for lost time.

Letty Carmichael can’t believe her eyes when she catches a glimpse of her high school tormenter, wrestling champ Tate Sullivan, on campus. College was supposed to be her escape from Tate’s constant ridicule. Now he’s in her classes again, just waiting for his chance to make her life hell. But when Letty and Tate are partnered up for an assignment—on sex in cinema, of all things—she starts to see a kinder, gentler side of him. And when she realizes Tate knows more about sex than she could ever guess at, he soon starts making her blush in a whole new way.

Tate Sullivan is haunted by regret over his cruelty toward Letty. So when she agrees to work with him, he seizes his chance to make amends. He can’t blame her for not believing he’s for real, but soon Tate starts to break down her wall. She wants to know about passion, desire, lust—topics he is well versed in. And in return she offers the one thing he always wanted: the chance to be more than just a jock.

Letty is shocked by how sensitive Tate can be. Still, desiring him feels ludicrous. Loving him is impossible. Craving him is beyond all reason. So why can’t she stop?

Review
Never Sweeter is an amazing story of second chances and finding love where you least expect it.  It's a story about trust and how misunderstandings can ruin lives.

Letty went through a lot during high school, bullied, assaulted gravely. Now she's finally in college, moving on with her life, trying to figure out who she is as this new self.  She's never forgotten the past, though she's tried to move past it, until she sees Tate at her school.  Tate who should be elsewhere, and the only thing she can come up with for why he's there is to torment her more.

Tate isn't the teenage boy from High school though. He's realized things he allowed to happen and the person he became that he didn't want to be. He wants to make up for his past mistakes and he wants to make it up by making sure Letty is happy and has a wonderful future.  No matter what it takes to accomplish that task, no matter what he gives up.

Their reunion is full of distrust and animosity, Letty just knows that Tate has something planned, some nefarious attack he's going to spring on her at the last minute.  But as she gets to know him, and he gets to know her more, something else happens.  They both realize that they didn't really know the other and that things clouded judgement and they work towards forgiveness.

Working on a class project together is almost unbearable for Letty at first, but she throws herself all in as does Tate and feelings sort of erupt out of nowhere, first scaring and confusing Letty, then she gets over those fears and taht confusion and just sort of lets it happen.

Never Sweeter is a wonderful story that shows us how two people, two enemies, can all of a sudden find out they didn't know the other, that they can develop heavy feelings and change their relationship totally.  We see the remorse and regret Tate has held and still holds over his actions and what he had allowed himself to become. We see Letty moving past her fears and trust issues.

Though their path isn't smooth or easy, they learn a lot about each other and forgiveness. They learn that sometimes our actions, our words have unintended consequences.  Letty and Tate learned that sometimes you don't know another person, you don't know their path or their struggles.

Never Sweeter is an emotional journey, it shows great growth and a depth of understanding that can only occur when you truly figure out the person you are meant to be and the type of person you want to be known as.  Charlotte Stein made this hate to love story of second chances beautifully haunting in places while being down right DIRTY and HOT in others.
