My Review

When I first read the synopsis of Paper Princess, I was already screaming sign me up, then finding out that Erin Watt was actually a collaboration between two of my favorite NA authors, Jen Frederick and Elle Kennedy and I was even more anxious to read this book.

It's been a while since I read a YA book that not only sucked me in but also kept me embroiled in the drama and angst. To say I was pulled into this story from page one, ins't an apt description, I think I may have been lured in at the end of the first paragraph.

Ella Harper has never had an easy life, she's always struggled, either with being poor, dealing with her mother's disatrous relationships and finally losing her mother and being on her own. Ella's never been one to let it get her down much though, always getting by how she had too. When she's called into the office and finds Callum Royal waiting for her claiming he's now her guardian, she does what she's used to, she runs.

Unfortunately for Ella, she doesn't make it far before she's caught again, and as Callum leads her to his home, her new home, one she will share with his FIVE sons, Ella's not sure her life could get worse. But the Royal boys, well they don't want her around, and they aren't shy about letting her know thier true feelings. But the Royal boys don't know who they are up agaisnt, and Ella's not one to back down from a fight.

I LOVE how feisty Ella is, she's not one to back down or scare easily, but she also doesn't try to be anyone she's not. Ella knows who she is, what she wants to do/be and she's not going down without a fight. But as she gets to know the boys more, and learns little bits about them, Ella can understand their behavior and actions.

As for those Royal boys, first HOT HOT HOT, where were boys like them when I was 17! Each of the boys had me curious, and I'm hoping to discover more about them as we get more books. Gleening bits and pieces about them as the book went on, I'm looking for a broader picture of each of them.

The sexual tension between Ella and Reed is off the charts, even when their animosity is at its height, you can just see deeper into it. Their interactions leave you with feeling, be it irritated or almost swooning.

Paper Princess has twists and turns, bumps and holes to find a way around or over and enough drama and angst to fuel a few seasons of a new CW show, but every single moment was worth it, even the cliffhanger at the end.

Erin Watt has written a masterful debut with amazing chracters, an EPIC Drama, and I'm anxiously waiting the continuation in book 2.
